Wedding Date – 11 September 2021
St Bartholomew’s Church, Nympsfield

Keeping things local, today we ventured just a few miles up the road to the idyllic church of St Bartholomew’s in Nympsfield not too far from Nailsworth and Stonehouse.

Church Wedding in Gloucestershire

Arriving in good time, we set up in the North Aisle so we had a good view of the wedding. We had been given a number of songs to play before the service which lasted about 20 minutes. However, there was a traffic issue in Stroud so the bride was delayed by about 15 minutes or so. No matter, we simply found more songs to play and carried on entertaining the gathered congregation.

Before the service our set list included:

Wonderwall – Oasis
Let it be – The Beatles
Feeling good – Nina Simone
Game of thrones
Brown eyed girl
Can’t take my eyes off you
Theme from New York

Anne Marie Humphries

As Hannah walked down the aisle we played the beautiful ‘ A Thousand Years’ by Christina Perry which is endlessly popular with brides but also such a lovely song. Ideally suited to the Cello it sounded even better in the acoustic of St Bartholomew’s.

As Hannah and Peter signed the register we played Here Comes the Sun and Yellow by Coldplay. At the end of the service the Bride and Groom both walked out together to Mendelssohn’s Wedding March which was played on the organ.

Once again the photographer for this wedding was the renowned Ian Baker and it was nice to catch up with him since the last time we met at Ascot Racecourse for the wedding of Amar and Aneeka.
