Today we were off to Devon for the lovely intimate wedding of Ellen and Stephen in Moreton House just outside of Bideford. Arriving a little early we wandered into the town for a spot of breakfast and to check out the local charity shops! Before long however it was time to get to the wedding and set up ready for the ceremony.

Jules was very interested in the Red MG parked outside the venue – we can only assume it was there for Stephen and Ellen to depart in later on. Red it seemed was a theme for the wedding as we soon found out.
The Wedding Ceremony
Today was another indoor ceremony and we set up at the back of the room, next to a covered snooker table which was a first!

We particularly enjoyed playing the song for the couples exit! This was definitely a first but seemed to entirely fit the occasion!
Wedding Drinks Reception
It was a short relocation to the front entrance for the wedding drinks reception. Once again there was a grand piano in the hallway but a quick check established that it was barely in tune with itself and would therefore be impossible to use alongside our cello.
And so we therefore set up our Nord Stage piano along with our gloss black piano shell in the corner and carried on playing to the guests whilst they supped champagne and enjoyed some extremely tasty canapés.

We really enjoyed today’s wedding. It had a lovely intimate feel about it and the venue were extremely kind to us as were the couple and their parents. Everyone made us feel extremely welcome and it was a delight to be part of Stephen and Ellen’s special day. We wish them every happiness in their married life together.
