20 November 2025 — Cirencester, Gloucestershire
As winter weddings go, Lucy and Jack’s celebration at Old Gore by Cripps was everything you could hope for in a late-November gathering: glowing fire pits outside, candlelight in the ceremony barn, and that unmistakable warm, welcoming atmosphere Old Gore creates so effortlessly. It’s a venue that suits the season beautifully, and we were delighted to return as JAM Duo to provide music throughout the day.
A Candlelit Ceremony in the Main Barn
The ceremony took place indoors in Old Gore’s main barn — an ideal spot for a winter setting, with rustic stone walls, soft lighting and rows of candles creating a wonderfully intimate backdrop.
Lucy and Jack’s music choices were a real pleasure to bring to life, offering a blend of modern favourites and timeless classics arranged for our signature cello and piano.
Pre-Ceremony Music
Guests were welcomed with a thoughtful mix of elegant and contemporary pieces, including:
- At Last
- Can’t Help Falling in Love
- Canon in D — Pachelbel
- I Giorni — Einaudi
- Annie’s Song
- River Flows in You
- Ave Maria — Schubert
Bridal Entrance
The entrance was beautifully considered:
- Hallelujah (Benny Martin) for the bridal party
- Followed by Married Life (from UP) for the arrival of the couple’s flower puppy — a charming moment that brought smiles all around.
Signing of the Register
- Young and Beautiful
- My Funny Valentine — Sinatra
Couple Exit
To end the ceremony on a brighter note, Lucy and Jack requested the upbeat version of La Vie en Rose (Jean-Marie Rich / Laura Liis) — the perfect transition into the celebrations ahead.

Drinks Reception Music
The drinks reception was held indoors, making use of Old Gore’s cosy spaces while maintaining a relaxed, sociable atmosphere. We continued as cello and piano, performing from the couple’s selected list, including:
- Moonlight Serenade — Glenn Miller (always a pleasure to play and ideally suited to the room’s ambience)
- What a Wonderful World
- Somewhere Over the Rainbow (Israel K.)
- Pure Imagination
- All of Me
- Nothing Else Matters
- All You Need Is Love
- Angels
- Bittersweet Symphony
- Golden Hour
- Half the World Away
- I Say a Little Prayer
- Iris
- Let It Be — The Beatles
- The Sound of Silence
- Sweet Disposition
- When We Were Young
- You’ve Got the Love
- Video Games
- Accidentally in Love
…and many more from their thoughtfully chosen playlist, spanning modern pop, acoustic favourites and light cinematic selections.
Our setup for the day was the Nord piano, Yamaha electric cello, and our Yamaha sound system, which blended perfectly into the aesthetic of the barn — all visible in the photo from the day.
Wedding Breakfast — Piano Jazz by Jules
After the newlyweds made their entrance to Bella Ciao, the atmosphere shifted seamlessly into a relaxed dining setting. At this point, Anne-Marie departed and Jules continued solo, providing a gentle, stylish background of improvised jazz and well-known standards.
The couple opted for a classic feel, which worked beautifully with the room’s calm winter mood. Piano selections included:
- Feeling Good
- Moon River
- My Way
- New York, New York
- Dream a Little Dream of Me
- Pure Imagination
- Fly Me to the Moon
- Bluebird
- Have You Met Miss Jones
- Misty
- Our Day Will Come
- A Sunday Kind of Love
A smooth, understated soundtrack carried the wedding breakfast from start to finish — elegant but never intrusive.
Gratitude
A heartfelt thank-you to Lucy and Jack for choosing JAM Duo to be part of such a warm and beautifully planned winter wedding.
We’d also like to extend our thanks to Alex, the wedding co-ordinator, who looked after us superbly throughout the day — from the welcome coffee on arrival to drinks from the bar later on. We genuinely appreciate this kindness, and it always makes our work that little bit smoother.
