Ceremony & Drinks Reception | Cello and Piano Duo
Nestled in the North Yorkshire countryside near Scarborough, Hackness Grange is a hidden gem of a wedding venue – elegant, peaceful, and rich in natural beauty. Set within a 17-acre private estate at the edge of the North York Moors National Park, this grand Georgian house offers a truly romantic backdrop for weddings. One of its most unique features is the small island on the lake, accessible by a quaint stone bridge – and it was here that Fiona and Robert chose to hold their unforgettable outdoor ceremony.
Ceremony on the Island
With the sun shining and the tranquil lake reflecting the surrounding greenery, JAM Duo were set up on the island to provide music for Fiona and Robert’s wedding ceremony. Guests gathered on the lawn as our music welcomed them with a romantic and cinematic atmosphere.
The pre-ceremony playlist featured a stunning mix of heartfelt and recognisable pieces, including:
- The Love of a Princess – Braveheart Theme
- I Get to Love You – Ruelle
- Yellow – Coldplay
- Oceans (Where Feet May Fail) – Hillsong United
- Here Comes the Sun – The Beatles
Each piece was carefully arranged for live cello and piano, creating a soft and emotional soundscape as the anticipation built.
Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for. Fiona made her entrance across the bridge to Pachelbel’s Canon in D, a timeless and elegant choice. With her beautiful gown flowing behind her and the water shimmering below, it was a truly magical moment – one of those rare, cinematic scenes that will live in memory forever.
During the signing of the register, we played:
- A Thousand Years – The Piano Guys
- Tale as Old as Time – Beauty and the Beast
And to close the ceremony, the couple exited joyfully to “Beautiful Day” by U2 – a perfect song to begin their new chapter.
Drinks Reception on the Lawn
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks and canapés on the lawn while we continued to provide a selection of live music. The relaxed atmosphere, paired with the soft sounds of cello and piano, created a warm and welcoming environment for everyone to celebrate together.
As always, JAM Duo performed completely live – no backing tracks, no gimmicks, just two professional musicians bringing each piece to life with elegance and emotion.
