On Monday 4 August 2025, JAM Duo – Jules Addison (piano) and Anne-Marie Humphries (cello) – had the pleasure of providing live wedding music for the beautiful celebration of Giorgia and Dom at the stunning West Mill Wedding Venue in Derby. From the intimate moments before the ceremony through to a lively and joyful drinks reception, it was our privilege to be part of such a memorable day.
This was a wedding full of charm, thoughtful details, and music that perfectly reflected the personality of the couple – and we loved every minute of it.
A Privileged First Look
Before the ceremony began, we were honoured to witness two incredibly touching moments – Giorgia’s first look and her first dance with her father. These are often some of the most emotional parts of a wedding day, and being there to see them unfold reminded us exactly why live music matters. While we didn’t perform for these moments, they set the tone for the day and created an atmosphere of love, excitement, and heartfelt anticipation.
Ceremony in The West Mill’s Stunning Top Floor
The West Mill is a truly unique Derbyshire wedding venue, with its blend of industrial charm, exposed brickwork, and character-filled spaces. The top floor – flooded with natural light and overlooking the River Derwent – made for a beautiful ceremony setting.
For this part of the day, we used our electric cello alongside the venue’s grand piano. This combination allows for a perfectly balanced sound that fills the room without overpowering the emotion of the moment.

Giorgia looked absolutely stunning in her beautiful dress as she entered with her bridesmaids, who all wore vibrant yellow dresses – a colour that radiated joy and sunshine throughout the ceremony.
Signing:
As this was a celebrant-led wedding, the couple added a unique twist – instead of signing a register, they signed playing cards as part of their personalised wedding theme.

Drinks Reception on the Ground Floor
Following the ceremony, we moved swiftly to the ground floor of The West Mill. Here, we set up with our piano shell(which gives the appearance of a traditional grand piano while housing our portable Nord stage piano) so we could continue the live music seamlessly for the drinks reception.
