After an overnight drive back from Herefordshire following Laura & Michael’s wedding at Bredenbury Court Barns, JAM Duo arrived in Bathgate, Scotland ready to perform for another beautiful celebration. This time it was the wedding of Amber and Nicole, held at the stunning Vu, one of Scotland’s most iconic wedding venues.
The Vu – A Unique Scottish Wedding Venue
Set on the tranquil Ballencrieff Reservoir, The Vu is a breathtaking venue renowned for its panoramic views across the water and rolling West Lothian countryside. Its most famous feature is the Water Lily, a striking glass ceremony pavilion that appears to float above the reservoir itself. Couples literally walk on water as they take their vows — a truly unforgettable setting.
JAM Duo love performing at weddings in Scotland. There’s always a sense of warmth, tradition, and celebration, whether it’s the rousing sound of a ceilidh later in the evening or simply the pride of families coming together. Playing at The Vu is always special, and Amber and Nicole’s day was no exception.
Ceremony in the Water Lily
The ceremony began in the ethereal surroundings of the Water Lily, with Amber and Nicole’s chosen music creating an atmosphere of romance and joy.

Drinks Reception in the Main Building
After the ceremony, we relocated to the main building for the drinks reception. Guests enjoyed spectacular views over the reservoir while we performed a set of contemporary covers to provide a lively yet relaxed atmosphere. The sound of live cello and piano carried effortlessly across the space, adding elegance to the celebration without ever dominating conversation.
