JAM Duo were delighted to provide live cello and piano music for a luxury destination wedding at Cornwell Manor.
This was a particularly memorable wedding for us, as the couple had travelled from Washington DC to marry in the Cotswolds. Their celebration took place across two days, with music for an evening dinner and welcome drinks reception on the Friday, followed by the wedding ceremony, terrace drinks reception and marquee wedding breakfast on the Saturday.
It was a beautiful wedding, with an elegant blue, white and green colour scheme, black tie dress code and around 125 guests. The whole weekend had a classic Cotswold luxury feel, with the house, gardens and marquee all playing their part.
For the ceremony, we performed live music for the family procession, the bride’s entrance and the couple’s exit. The family procession used The Swan from Carnival of the Animals, which is a perfect piece for cello and piano. Because it was performed live, we were able to repeat and extend the music naturally as family members made their way down the aisle.
For the bride’s entrance, we played Can’t Help Falling in Love, followed by L-O-V-E for the couple’s exit. It was a lovely musical combination: elegant, romantic and celebratory.
We then played for the drinks reception on the terrace and later for the wedding breakfast in the marquee. The couple’s music choices included a wide mixture of classical, film music, jazz standards, pop and timeless love songs, from La Vie en Rose, At Last and My Way through to Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, Taylor Swift, Queen, Elton John, Whitney Houston and Chappell Roan.
