Based in Wiltshire, we love travelling around for weddings but it’s also nice when we get to play for a relatively local wedding. On this occasion we were at the beautiful Pennard House in Somerset, not far from Shepton Mallet. We play for a lot of weddings and events in Somerset.
Our brief on this occasion was to play for their wedding drinks reception which was held on the terrace. The sun was shining and even though we had been given a gazebo to keep us shaded it was still extremely hot!

Surrounded by 130 acres of meadows, woodlands and apple orchards, there’s a croquet lawn, tipis in the garden and even a freshwater swimming lake.
Musicians for a Wedding Drinks Reception
JAM Duo are the ideal musicians for your wedding drinks reception. We don’t take up much space and can play with or indeed without amplification even outside. Our style is relaxed, yet engaging and we play a range of popular covers or classical music to suit all tastes.
Pennard House was a lovely relaxed venue to work in and we really enjoyed playing for this wedding. The only concession we had to make was to keep our digital piano at a low volume as the venue did not permit amplified music on the terrace area. Strictly speaking our digital piano plays through its own internal speakers so unless we add additional amplification we see this is as similar to an acoustic duo. Indeed with our own portable power supply we do not need access to the venues electricity so can play anywhere.
