After yesterday’s wedding in Essex, we had a relatively easy drive up the M11 to our overnight accommodation on the outskirts of Goole so we were within easy reach of Rise Hall for today’s wedding. With plenty of time, we started the day with a splendid breakfast at a lovely local farm shop before making our way across to Rise Hall which is just North of Hull and not far from the beautiful city of Beverley in East Yorkshire.

The Wedding Ceremony
Our first task on arrival at Rise Hall was the setting up our piano shell in the morning room which is adjacent to the ceremony room. This was convenient because it meant we could also play from there during the drinks reception as the doors opened out towards the stair case where guests gathered with drinks after the ceremony.

The Reception
After the ceremony the guests were taken outside for photographs, but soon returned indoors for drinks and canapés and we ensure the music filled the hall for everyone to enjoy.

After a relatively short drinks reception, it was then time to relocate to the nearby orangery for the wedding breakfast. Fortunately at Rise Hall there is a quick route to the orangery by going outside which saves getting tangled up with the guests when we are trying to carry our instruments! Within moments we had reset up ready for the wedding breakfast and played Queen ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’ for the couple entrance into the meal.
