Nestled in the village of Kington Langley, not far from our own base in the South Cotswolds, Kin House has become one of Wiltshire’s most stylish and talked-about wedding venues. It’s always a pleasure for us, JAM Duo, to perform here — not least because it’s practically on our doorstep.
From its Georgian architecture and manicured lawns to the impeccably designed interiors, Kin House blends classic English charm with modern luxury. Every corner feels curated for celebration, and for musicians, it offers an atmosphere that’s both intimate and grand.
A Timeless Wiltshire Setting
Kin House is set within private parkland and surrounded by mature trees, giving it a sense of calm and exclusivity. Inside, the design is stunning — neutral tones, elegant furnishings, and plenty of natural light. The result is a space that feels effortless and warm, perfectly suited to the sound of live cello and piano.
For weddings, the venue can accommodate both ceremonies and receptions, with several adaptable spaces such as:
- The Hearth Room – ideal for ceremonies or small gatherings.
- The Kiln – perfect for dining and speeches.
- The Fitz Bar and Drawing Room – stylish areas for drinks receptions and post-ceremony celebrations.
- The Orangery – a bright, glass-walled space for meals and music.
Each room has its own acoustic personality, and we love how our instruments resonate within those elegant high ceilings and wooden floors.

Ceremony Music at Kin House
Every wedding at Kin House feels a little different — some couples choose a modern soundtrack, while others prefer something classical and understated. Either way, the setting is ideal for live ceremony music.
We usually perform from the front of the ceremony space, allowing the sound of the cello and piano to fill the room naturally as guests arrive. Our pre-ceremony set typically lasts 15–20 minutes and helps to settle nerves while guests take their seats.
Then come the highlights:
- The Bridal Party Entrance – perfectly timed to your chosen song.
- The Signing of the Register – gentle, reflective music to accompany those first moments as a married couple.
- The Couple’s Exit – joyful, upbeat music as you walk back down the aisle to applause.
Because our performances are completely live, we can adjust in real time — extending a section if needed, softening dynamics for vows, or finishing exactly as the doors open. It’s one of the reasons live music creates such a powerful atmosphere.
Drinks Reception on the Terrace or Indoors
Following the ceremony, guests often move to the bar area or terrace for drinks and canapés. This is where live daytime entertainment shines.
At Kin House, we can perform either indoors (often in the bar or drawing room) or outside on the lawn, depending on the weather. Using our Yamaha sound system, we balance the tone perfectly so the music carries gently without overpowering conversation.
Our drinks reception sets usually feature a blend of pop, soul, and film favourites — for example:
- Dreams – Fleetwood Mac
- Halo – Beyoncé
- Love Story – Taylor Swift
- A Sky Full of Stars – Coldplay
- Married Life – UP Soundtrack
- Your Song – Elton John
- Can’t Take My Eyes Off You – Frankie Valli
It’s upbeat, elegant and relaxed — the perfect backdrop to champagne, laughter and photos on the lawn.
Wedding Breakfast in The Orangery
As guests move through to The Orangery for the wedding breakfast, we transition smoothly, setting up our Nord Stage piano and electric cello ready for another live performance.
This part of the day calls for something more mellow — a touch of jazz, a little classical, and romantic covers that flow beautifully during the meal. Our aim is to complement conversation while adding warmth and sophistication to the setting.
Because Kin House is acoustically balanced and softly furnished, the sound feels intimate even in larger gatherings. The cello’s rich tone and the piano’s clarity create an elegant blend that feels right at home here.
Why Live Music Enhances Kin House
Kin House has a refined, contemporary aesthetic — and live music elevates it even further. The sound of real instruments enhances the atmosphere in a way recorded playlists can’t replicate.
A few reasons live music works so well here:
- The architecture naturally supports rich, resonant acoustics.
- The transitions between ceremony, drinks and meal flow effortlessly with live musicians moving between spaces.
- The tone of cello and piano complements the venue’s elegant, modern style.
- The experience feels bespoke — each performance is unique to the couple and the moment.
Every piece we play is performed 100% live — no backing tracks, no loops, just two musicians shaping the soundtrack of your day in real time.
