There are few venues in Essex that rival the grandeur of Gosfield Hall. Once a royal palace and now one of the county’s most elegant wedding venues, its sweeping architecture and historic interiors provide a truly spectacular backdrop for a wedding day.

For Orli and Aidan, Gosfield Hall set the stage for a celebration filled with character, originality, and plenty of music. JAM Duo were delighted to provide the soundtrack to both the ceremony and the drinks reception, performing a wonderfully imaginative setlist that reflected the couple’s personalities and passions.

Ceremony in the Grand Hall

Due to sound restrictions within the venue, JAM Duo performed the ceremony on acoustic cello alongside the venue’s grand piano. This lent a warm and natural sound to the music, perfectly suited to the grandeur of the ceremony space.

Orli and Aidan chose a strikingly original programme for their ceremony – blending film soundtracks, classical beauty, and fantasy themes. It was a joy for us to perform such creative and unusual pieces.

Pre-Ceremony

  • Deep Stone Lullaby – Michael Sechrist, Skye Lewin, Michael Salvatori
  • Hedwig’s Theme – John Williams
  • Howl’s Moving Castle (Violin and Piano) – Edward Chang
  • Down by the River – Borislav Slavov
  • Harry’s Wondrous World – John Williams

Entrance of the Bride

  • Clair de Lune – Debussy
  • Turning Page – Sleeping at Last

Signing of the Register

  • Pure Imagination – from Wonka
  • Path of the Wind – from My Neighbour Totoro

Couple Exit

  • Golden Hour – JVKE
  • Halo – Martin O’Donnell & Michael Salvatori

Perhaps one of the most memorable moments of the ceremony was the entrance of Atlas, the couple’s pug, who acted as ring bearer. Atlas trotted down the aisle right on cue, to the delight of guests, adding a personal and heartwarming touch to the proceedings.

Drinks Reception in the DJ Room

Following the ceremony, JAM Duo relocated to the DJ Room – a space that opens into both the gardens and the bar area. Here, we were permitted to use our electric cello and Nord Stage Piano with amplification, ensuring the music could carry comfortably throughout the space while remaining within the venue’s sound limits.

This setlist was unlike any other we’ve played at a drinks reception – a treasure trove of anime, fantasy, and film themes, which was great fun for us as musicians and much enjoyed by the guests.

Drinks Reception Highlights

  • Dexter Main Theme – Rolfe Kent
  • Otonoke (Dandandan Theme)
  • Unravelled – Tokyo Ghoul
  • Delicious in Dungeon OP / Sleep Walking Orchestra – BUMP OF CHICKEN
  • Guren no Yumiya – Attack on Titan (Linked Horizon)
  • Shinzou wo Sasageyo! – Attack on Titan (Linked Horizon)
  • the WORLD – NightMare
  • L no Theme – Hideki Taniuchi
  • You Say Run – Boku no Hero Academia
  • The Day – Boku no Hero Academia
  • Kaikai Kitan – Eve
  • Gurenge – Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba
  • Kamado Tanjiro no Uta – Demon Slayer (Nami Nakagawa)
  • One Summer’s Day – Spirited Away
  • Suzume no Tojimari – Main Theme

This eclectic mix gave the drinks reception a truly distinctive atmosphere – playful, cinematic, and unmistakably personal to the couple.

Reflections on the Day

Orli and Aidan’s wedding at Gosfield Hall was a perfect example of how couples can use live music to express their individuality. From the ethereal tones of Debussy and Studio Ghibli to the energy of anime openings and even the Dextertheme, every choice told part of their story.

Atlas the pug’s starring role as ring bearer added a touch of joy and humour, while Gosfield Hall itself provided a majestic setting that made the day unforgettable.

Thank You

We would like to extend our warmest thanks to Orli and Aidan for choosing JAM Duo to be part of their wedding at Gosfield Hall. It was an absolute pleasure to perform such a unique programme, and we wish them both every happiness for the future.
