Ceremony, Drinks, Meal and Evening Sets

Following on from yesterdays wedding in Shustoke Barn, we continued our journey North, staying overnight in a Premier Inn just on the edge of Blackpool. This was well positioned for today’s wedding at Ribby Hall Village. After a quick saunter into Blackpool for a rather wet and extremely windy walk along the sea front, we made our way to the venue to begin setting up for Donna and Shane’s wedding ceremony.

Pre Ceremony
I’ll be there – Michael Jackson
What a wonderful world
Beauty and the beast song
How soon is now The smiths

Bridal Entrance
Your song – Elton John. (cello only)

Signing
Lady in red – Chris de burgh
You are beautiful – James Blunt

Exit
Knights in White satin – moody blues

Following the ceremony we moved into the reception area for a short drinks reception whilst the ceremony room was being turned around for the meal. It was then another quick move back so we could provide music during the wedding breakfast for the 30 or so guests at today’s wedding.

After playing throughout the wedding breakfast, Donna and Shane had very kindly arranged some food for us which we were able to have during the speeches. The staff at Ribby Hall were extremely attentive and helpful to us throughout the day which made everything such a pleasure.

We are aware that unlike most suppliers who can have their supplier meal during the wedding breakfast we are somewhat more awkward as that is a time we are working. And so if we are having food it needs to be after the wedding breakfast. So we were very grateful to the venue for accommodating this, particularly as moments later we were setting up again for another 2 hours of playing during the evening.

We played a lot of music at today’s wedding and ended up moving our instruments and PA 3 times after the initial setup. However, this really wasn’t an issue at all and we really enjoyed being a part of this wedding. It was a pleasure to be involved in a small wedding and to be such an important part where we spent almost the whole day with Donna, Shane and their guests.

We really hope they enjoyed our music as much as we enjoyed being a part of their wedding day and we wish Donna and Shane every happiness as they embark on their married life together.
