Perfect for a large wedding

Our stunning Marquee – it caters for up to 500 guests and with windows overlooking the landscaped gardens, it is the perfect setting for wedding breakfasts and evening receptions. The elegant decor, ivory lined walls and shimmering star cloth draped delicately above the dance floor completes the romantic mood.

Perfect for a small wedding

Ideal for small weddings of up to 30 guests, The Harrington creates a wonderfully intimate ambience with its age-old etchings on the windows and view across the moat. It’s also a great choice for private dining parties.

The Stuart Room is another great choice, especially in the Spring and Summer months as it features French doors that lead out onto the west terrace. The flowing drapes and Art Deco style also add a touch of romance to the room which can accommodate up to 60 guests for a wedding ceremony and 40 guests for a wedding breakfast.

Today’s wedding ceremony was scheduled to start at 4pm. Even allowing for the fact we were to play for music as guests arrived this still gave us plenty of time particularly as the venue was only just a little north of the Cotswolds. This meant a short drive up the Fosse Way.

On arrival, our instruction was to set up in the Baronial Hall. And baronial it was. Starting with the fire pits outside the entrance and the red carpet. Going inside was like stepping back in time.

The ceremony room had been decked out with candles and looked absolutely splendid for the occasion. Although this did make it rather warm. We didn’t count the candles but there must have been well over a hundred, in a combination of tea lights and larger candles around the ceremony stage.

Music for the Ceremony

Drinks Reception

After the ceremony we had to move back into the main hotel building for the drinks reception in Cloisters Bar. This was quite a small space for 90 or so wedding guests, but fortunately there was a little alcove which was ideally sized for us. With the help of the venue staff quickly re arranging some furniture we soon had a duo sized space to perform from.

Setting up as quickly as we could we were ready within moments of the drinks reception starting. We couldn’t see a lot of what was going on but with our electric cello, Nord and Bose speaker, we could certainly be heard above the chatter.

Laura and Paul had chosen a few songs which they specifically wanted us to play for the wedding drinks reception:

Mr Brightside
One Day Like this
Perfect Day
Hallelujah
At Last

Whilst it was only a short drinks reception, lasting around 45 minutes to an hour, we sill managed to add in a few songs of our choosing, in particular Invincible by Muse which is a particular favourite of AM that we have only recently added to our repertoire.
