When it comes to choosing music for your wedding, it is a very personal choice. JAM Duo understand this which is why our repertoire spans the centuries from the 1600s right up to the present day.
Showcase new music
We are always looking for new music to learn and to showcase on our website and Soundcloud profile. As well as this we love hearing about the songs you want played for your wedding. In a lot of cases these will be contemporary pop songs which generally speaking are not written for the cello.
However the range of the cello is not totally dissimilar to the human voice and is often quite well suited to performing modern contemporary songs. Whilst not strictly a ‘jazz’ instrument there is also quite a lot of jazz repertoire which suits the cello well.
Wedding Request – Let it be Me
A couple of weeks ago we were asked by one of our clients to record the song ‘Let it be Me’ by the Everly Brothers.
Tp be truthful this was not a song which had previously been on our radar as a wedding song. But when you look at the lyrics it does make perfect sense. The opening lines for example are:
I bless the day I found you
I want to stay around you
And so I beg you
Let it be me
The long flowing lines of the song and the general slow pace also make it well suited to the Cello. We hope you enjoy our performance of Let it be Me arranged for Cello and Piano.
JAM Duo perform at weddings and events all over the UK. We are a Cello and Piano Duo based on the Wiltshire / Gloucestershire border in the Cotswolds. We love playing at weddings and are already getting quite booked up for weddings in late 2021 and 2022.
