When it comes to organising a wedding, the top things to consider are without doubt the venue, the ceremony, the dress and the photographer. For most people these will be their priorities and we would agree! But when it comes to weddings there are many more things to consider.
Music is of course just one of those things, but surprisingly for some, it is perhaps the most overlooked. Perhaps one way of looking at it, is to think how your wedding day would be without music.
There are basically 4 main points where music can really make or break your wedding day
The Wedding Ceremony, and specifically the entrance of the bride
Background music at your Drinks Reception
The Wedding Breakfast
The evening reception / party
We recently performed at Bredenbury Barns in Herefordshire and they have this useful summary of how the day works!
Your Wedding Ceremony
Music plays an incredibly important part at your wedding ceremony. When JAM Duo are playing at your wedding ceremony we start with some quiet background music as your guests arrive to take their seats. Often this will include a playlist of songs which the bride and groom have specified or at least a particular style. It might be that you like classical music, or perhaps you want covers of songs from the 1990s? Whatever your taste in music we can accommodate this throughout your wedding day.
The most important place for music in the ceremony is of course the entrance of the bride. This is great moment to have a your favourite song played – particularly one which has a special meaning to you as a couple.
Other points in the ceremony where music can play a big part is whilst you sign the register as this takes about 10 minutes usually. And then as you exit as husband and wife, this is again a great point to include a song which has special meaning for you.
The Wedding Drinks Reception
After the ceremony, most weddings will include a drinks reception. At this point the bride and groom are often whisked away by the photographer leaving their guests to mingle and enjoy a glass or two of something along with some canapés perhaps.
JAM Duo are the perfect musicians to entertain guests and add a sense of style to your drinks reception. The lovely tones of the cello combined with beautiful harmony on the piano creates a perfect ambience to help your guests relax.
