The Wedding

Carys and Lewis
Elmhay Park, Somerset
16 October 2021

A couple of months ago we played for the wedding of Claire and Matt at Warmwell House. Apparently we did a reasonable job there as Matt was kind enough to recommend us when Lewis was asking about wedding musicians! Lewis and Carys had chosen the lovely setting of Elmhay Park in Somerset for their wedding. A bit like Claire and Matt’s wedding, the weather wasn’t great in the morning and the forecast suggested overcast and light drizzle. However, again like Claire and Matt’s wedding the forecast was wrong and after the ceremony the sun shone down on the drinks reception which took place outside on the lawns.

Music for the Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony took place in a lovely covered space which brought the outside inside in a way. Today we had 2 songs to play for the entrance of the bridal party. The first was ‘Here Comes the Sun’ which we played as Matt the ‘Flower girl????!’ walked in. We then seamlessly modulated to B flat major for Christina Perri’s ‘A Thousand Years’ for the entrance of the Bridesmaids followed by Carys.

As Carys and Lewis were technically already married, there was no signing and so the music continued at the end of a very lovely ceremony with them walking out to ‘This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)’.

Drinks Reception

After the ceremony we relocated just across the lawn to a small patio area where we played more songs for the duration of the wedding drinks reception.

Music for your Drinks Reception

Carys and Lewis had chosen a few songs which they asked us to incorporate during our setlist for the drinks reception, which we duly obliged. This was an eclectic mix taking in Bridgerton and a few film themes, including the latest Bond theme- No Time to Die. Alongside music for stage and screen we also played some songs by Ellie Goulding, Lady Gaga and Elton John.

We played for around 90 minutes whilst guests enjoyed Champagne out on the lawn and sat round us on the patio area. It was then time for Carys and Lewis and their guests to head inside for the wedding breakfast.
