Wales is not far from our home in the Cotswolds and it’s always a pleasure to head over one of the bridges into the fine country of Wales. We started they day just outside Chepstow where we found a lovely farm shop for a spot of breakfast. Called Hanley Farm Shop, it has an award winning cafe which was very pleasing for us en route to today’s wedding.
With the ceremony at 12.30 we didnt have too much time to dilly dally around with breakfast, but it was nevertheless a pleasing diversion. We set off again in good time arriving at the venue (down some very windy welsh roads) about an hour later.

Wedding Ceremony
Our first involvement with Hannah and Joshua’s wedding day was to provide music for their ceremony. This also included music for around half an hour pre ceremony as the guests gathered in the main hall before making their way into the ceremony room.
As well as the ceremony we also played for a short period after before relocating for the wedding meal. Hannah and Josh had booked a saxophonist to play during the drinks reception.
This gave us a short break to explore Sant Fraed House which is a new wedding venue in Wales.
Sant Ffraed House
Sant Ffraed House by Oldwalls offers a reception and ceremony space for at least 150 guests, substantial on-site accommodation, two bars and an evening entertainment space, the property is set within 14 acres with views of Sugar Loaf mountain, the high-end market town of Abergavenny is just a 10-minute drive away.
The venue opened in Summer 2022 so this was one of the first weddings to be hosted at Sant Ffraed House and as such was our first visit to this delightful venue.
Wedding Breakfast
We moved into a new building for the wedding breakfast which had been built as part of the transformation of Sant Ffraed House into a fabulous wedding venue.
The wedding meal looked lovely, a three course meal with an amuse bouche served between courses. Setting up in the dining room we carried on providing a selection of Jazz and popular favourites throughout the meal using our usual combination of electric cello and digital piano.
JAM Duo Musicians in Wales
