This was our second visit to Polhawn Fort down in Cornwall, and our first trip into Cornwall for a while. With its own private beach accessible from the venue via a few steps, Polhawn is a delightful coastal wedding venue in Cornwall and it was our absolute pleasure to return there for another wedding.

Our brief today was to provide music for the ceremony and drinks reception both of which were held outdoors. Last time we played at Polhawn Fort the skies opened half way through the drinks reception and we had to quickly move indoors. Today the weather held and so we stayed outside for the duration.

Acoustic Instruments at Polhawn Fort
In line with the rules at Polhawn Fort today we were using our beautiful acoustic Cello. It’s actually been a while since this cello has been to a wedding as generally Anne-Marie tends to play the electric cello at weddings. Primarily this is to ensure we can be heard and it also balances beautifully with our Nord Stage Piano and we can set the volume to suit any environment inside or outside.
However the rules at Polhawn Fort are that musicians must be acoustic only. Luckily we believe in being prepared for all eventualities
Wedding Drinks Reception
Moving slightly we carried on playing outside for the wedding drinks reception. Jules was particularly pleased with the regular supply of canapés which were arriving at the piano!

We really enjoyed playing for Jade and Aaron’s wedding at Polhawn Fort and we are already looking forward to another trip to Cornwall to play for more weddings here and at some of the other beautiful costal venues on the Cornish coast.
