Today JAM Duo were in Norfolk for the beautiful wedding of Lydia and Ben at Curds Hall Barn just outside Dereham in Norfolk. This meant an early start for us, leaving the Cotswolds before 8am in order to arrive in good time for the 2pm ceremony. As it turned out we arrived with time to spare and were able to have a short perusal of the shops in Dereham before heading to the wedding.

At Curds Hall Barn, we had the chance to set up in a gallery at the rear of the ceremony room. Aside of being a little challenging getting our Nord Stage piano up the very narrow staircase, this was in fact the perfect location for us. As well as giving us a great view of the proceedings, it also meant we had plenty of space to set up and would not be interfering with the photographs.
We always ask our couples where they want us to set up for each part of the wedding and this is particularly important during the ceremony. Some people who have bought our gloss black piano shell want us to be at the front and very much part of the ceremony and in the photographs. Others prefer us to be heard but not obviously seen – in which case we set up at the back.
There is no right or wrong in this situation. We don’t mind at all where we set up – most importantly we want our couples to be happy with the location we have chosen which is why we ask the question before your wedding date where you would like us to set up.

Wedding Coordinators Eleanor and Annabelle have many years of experience in weddings and are passionate about building relationships with each couple, sharing their little black book of suppliers to help you piece together a bespoke day of celebrations. The team also enjoy being present on your wedding day to support you – including holding your hand and reminding you to smile before giving you the cue to walk down the aisle!
We really enjoyed being a part of Lydia and Ben’s wedding and it was a pleasure to provide music at Curds Hall Barn. The staff there were extremely welcoming and helpful to us which we really appreciate.
