Perched on a hillside overlooking the beautiful Welsh countryside, Llechwen Hall is one of those venues that instantly feels welcoming. With its sweeping views, rustic charm, and relaxed atmosphere, it’s the perfect place for a wedding filled with personality and joy — and that’s exactly what Katherine and Adam’s celebration was all about.
We were delighted to provide live music throughout their wedding day, from the ceremony in the historic Jail House to the drinks reception and wedding breakfast in the marquee behind the hotel. Every part of the day felt full of warmth, laughter, and energy — a truly joyful occasion to be part of.
The Ceremony in the Jail House
Katherine and Adam chose to hold their ceremony in Llechwen Hall’s Jail House, a charming and intimate space full of character. The acoustics in this room are lovely, with just the right amount of natural echo — perfect for the rich tones of cello and piano.
We set up on the balcony at the back of the room, which gave us an excellent vantage point and allowed the music to fill the space beautifully as guests arrived.
When the ceremony began, we performed a blend of two songs for the entrance — one for the bridal party and another for the bride herself:
- Accidentally in Love – Counting Crows (for the bridal party)
- All Star – Smash Mouth (for the bride)
It was such a fun and original pairing — upbeat, quirky, and full of character. You could immediately sense the couple’s playful spirit and the joy in the room as the ceremony began.
During the signing of the register, we moved into two soulful favourites:
- Signed, Sealed, Delivered – Stevie Wonder
- Love Story – Taylor Swift
And for the couple’s exit, we performed This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) by Natalie Cole — a lively, celebratory piece that perfectly matched the moment. The guests were smiling, clapping, and the energy was wonderful as Katherine and Adam made their way back down the aisle as newlyweds.
Drinks Reception in the Marquee
After the ceremony, we moved seamlessly to the main marquee behind the hotel. Llechwen Hall is one of those venues where the layout makes transitions easy — even with our piano and cello setup, it took just a few minutes to relocate and be ready to play again.
The drinks reception and wedding breakfast both took place in this spacious marquee, which has a lovely open feel and plenty of light — ideal for live music to accompany the afternoon’s celebrations.
For the drinks reception, Katherine and Adam had asked for a set of modern and upbeat songs, with a blend of classic pop and alternative favourites. It was a great brief — vibrant and fresh while still romantic.
Drinks Reception Setlist
- You’re My Best Friend – Queen
- I’m Still Standing – Elton John

The playlist had something for everyone — a mix of nostalgic classics, romantic anthems, and indie favourites. Guests chatted, laughed, and sang along quietly as we played; the atmosphere in the marquee was full of life and laughter.

Wedding Breakfast Music
As guests took their seats for the wedding breakfast, we were ready with another round of live music to accompany the meal. Katherine and Adam’s music choices continued to reflect their fun, eclectic taste — a lovely balance between heartfelt and lively.
To mark the entrance of the new Mr & Mrs, we performed Still Into You by Paramore — a perfect track to announce them into the room with a burst of energy and excitement.

A Wonderful Venue to Play At
We always love returning to Llechwen Hall. It’s one of those venues that feels warm and welcoming from the moment you arrive, and the staff always make everything run smoothly. The combination of the Jail House ceremony space and the marquee for the reception works brilliantly for live musicians — easy to move between, yet each with its own atmosphere.
The views across the Welsh hills are breathtaking, and even with the busy schedule of three performance sets, it was a genuine pleasure to be part of such a lively, love-filled celebration.
