Setting the Scene

Your wedding ceremony is the heart of your entire day — the moment when everything feels real, emotions run high, and the music brings it all together. Whether you want to create quiet romance or make a grand, joyful entrance, your choice of music will shape the whole atmosphere.

At JAM Duo, we’ve performed for hundreds of ceremonies across the UK — from rustic barns and stately homes to candlelit churches and outdoor lakeside venues. Every couple’s story is unique, and our job is to translate that story into sound.

🎶 Pre-Ceremony Music: Setting the Mood

As guests arrive and take their seats, gentle background music helps everyone relax while anticipation builds. We usually play for around 15–20 minutes before the ceremony begins — soft, elegant pieces that subtly introduce your theme.

Popular pre-ceremony choices:

  • Can’t Help Falling in Love – Elvis Presley
  • A Thousand Years – Christina Perri
  • Perfect – Ed Sheeran
  • Moon River – Henry Mancini
  • Love Story – Taylor Swift

Many of our couples enjoy a blend of timeless and modern. One of our favourites is a custom JAM Duo arrangement that weaves Canon in D into Can’t Help Falling in Love — a seamless live transition that beautifully mirrors the build-up of emotion before the aisle walk.

👰 Bridal Entrance: Your Big Moment

Nothing compares to the moment the doors open and the first notes begin. This is your soundtrack — it should feel unmistakably you.

Ideas for your bridal entrance:

  • Pachelbel’s Canon in D (a classic that never fades)
  • Lover – Taylor Swift
  • All of Me – John Legend
  • A Million Dreams – The Greatest Showman
  • Kissing You – Des’ree
  • Salut d’Amour – Edward Elgar

Many brides opt for two linked pieces — one for bridesmaids and another for their own entrance. Because we perform live, we can adjust the tempo and transition naturally, ensuring your entrance unfolds perfectly in real time.

✍️ Signing the Register: Time to Breathe

After your vows and rings, this is a calm and reflective pause in the ceremony. You’ll usually need two or three songs — the ideal moment for meaningful favourites.

Beautiful signing selections:

  • Sky Full of Stars – Coldplay
  • Love Story – Taylor Swift
  • Signed, Sealed, Delivered – Stevie Wonder
  • Here Comes the Sun – The Beatles

We often suggest softer, romantic music here — something that lets you both take in the moment while your guests smile (and take a few photos!).

🎉 The Exit: Celebration Begins!

As you walk back down the aisle as newlyweds, this is where the joy bursts out! Choose something bright, upbeat, and full of happiness.

Favourites for your exit:

  • This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) – Natalie Cole
  • You’re My Best Friend – Queen
  • Marry You – Bruno Mars
  • Best Day of My Life – American Authors
  • I’m Yours – Jason Mraz

Because our music is live, we can extend the ending while guests cheer or fade perfectly as you reach the door — a small but magical detail.

💡 Final Tips for Choosing Your Ceremony Music

  1. Tell your story – choose songs that mean something to you both.
  2. Plan the flow – calm pre-ceremony, emotional entrance, relaxed signing, joyful exit.
  3. Think bespoke – we can arrange any song or even blend two together for something completely unique.
  4. Keep it live – real musicians can adapt to every moment and emotion.
