JAM Duo were delighted to return to provide live music for Wilsons Solicitors’ Christmas party, this time in the grand surroundings of Salisbury Guildhall, right in the heart of Wiltshire.
We were booked to provide live entertainment as guests arrived for the evening, performing from 7pm to 9pm and setting the tone for the night ahead. These arrival-style performances are something we particularly enjoy, as they allow music to enhance the atmosphere without overwhelming conversation or the flow of the event.
A Unique Performance Location at Salisbury Guildhall
For this event, JAM Duo were positioned in a striking location — on a balcony above the main entrance, halfway up the central staircase. From here, our music carried naturally through the entrance hall as guests arrived, collected drinks, and settled into the evening.
The Guildhall layout worked beautifully for a corporate event of this scale. The main entrance hall, where we performed, welcomed guests with drinks and cakes laid out on arrival. To the right, guests could access a bar located in the historic room where the Mace is housed, while to the left, a larger ballroom-style space was set up with cheese and wine, later transforming into the main party area.
Once JAM Duo finished at 9pm, the evening seamlessly transitioned into the next phase of the event, with a DJ taking over in the ballroom to keep the celebrations going.
Live Music for Corporate Christmas Events
For this performance, we used our Yamaha electric cello and Nord Stage piano, opting for a clean, modern setup without the piano shell. This allowed us to fit comfortably into the balcony space while still delivering a full, balanced sound across the venue.
The music itself was designed specifically for a corporate Christmas reception — upbeat, stylish, and familiar, creating an inviting atmosphere as colleagues arrived and mingled. Our set blended modern classics, well-known crowd-pleasers, and a handful of festive favourites, carefully chosen to feel seasonal without turning the event into a novelty Christmas playlist.
This style of live background entertainment works particularly well for corporate events, offering something more engaging than recorded music while still allowing guests to talk, network, and enjoy the occasion.
A Pleasure to Work with Wilsons Solicitors Again
This was not the first time JAM Duo have worked with Wilsons Solicitors. We were also honoured to provide music for their Christmas party last year at Larmer Tree, also near Salisbury. Being invited back for repeat corporate bookings is something we value greatly, and it’s always a pleasure to work with organisations who appreciate the role live music can play in elevating an event.
