At JAM Duo, every wedding has its own atmosphere, shaped by the couple, the venue, and the music chosen for the day. Harry and Kayleigh’s wedding at Colshaw Hall was a wonderful example of how thoughtful music choices can bring personality and emotion to a celebration.
On 8th March 2026, we travelled to the beautiful Cheshire countryside to provide live music for both the ceremony and drinks reception, performing our Option 2 package. With around 74 guests gathered in the ceremony hall, it was a warm and joyful occasion, and we were delighted to be part of such a special day.
A Beautiful Cheshire Wedding Venue
Colshaw Hall is one of Cheshire’s most elegant country house wedding venues, set within the peaceful village of Over Peover. The estate combines grand surroundings with a relaxed countryside feel, making it an ideal setting for both intimate ceremonies and larger celebrations.
The ceremony space is bright and welcoming, with a layout that works beautifully for live music. For Harry and Kayleigh’s ceremony we performed near the entrance, ensuring guests could enjoy the music as they arrived while also creating a musical focal point for the processional.
For the ceremony itself we used the venue’s piano alongside our acoustic cello, allowing the natural sound of the instruments to fill the room without amplification — perfect for such an elegant space.
Pre-Ceremony Music – Setting the Atmosphere
As guests arrived and took their seats, we performed a varied selection chosen by the couple. These pieces created a relaxed and personal atmosphere before the ceremony began.
Highlights included:
- Kids – Stranger Things Theme
- The Force Theme – Star Wars
- Concerning Hobbits – Lord of the Rings
- Cast No Shadow – Oasis
- Lucky Man – Richard Ashcroft
It’s always wonderful when couples mix genres like this. Film music, indie classics, and contemporary songs all translate beautifully when arranged for piano and cello, and they help set the tone for the ceremony that follows.

Kayleigh’s Entrance
One of the most emotional moments of any wedding is the bridal entrance, and Harry and Kayleigh chose a particularly elegant musical pairing.
Kayleigh walked down the aisle to a beautiful arrangement blending Can’t Help Falling in Love with Canon in D. The combination of these two timeless melodies created a moment that felt both traditional and deeply romantic.
As Kayleigh made her entrance, the atmosphere in the room shifted instantly — one of those moments where live music helps frame the emotion of the occasion perfectly.
Music for the Signing of the Register
During the signing of the register we performed three pieces chosen by the couple:
- River Flows in You – Yiruma
- A Thousand Years – Christina Perri
- Half the World Away – Oasis
These quieter reflective moments are ideal for piano and cello arrangements, allowing the music to sit gently beneath the celebration while guests watch the formalities unfold.
A Joyful Couple Exit
Once the ceremony was complete, the newly married couple left the ceremony hall to:
“I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” – Aerosmith
This made for a wonderfully uplifting exit, sending Harry and Kayleigh back down the aisle to applause and smiles from their guests.
Drinks Reception – A Change of Energy
After the ceremony we relocated for the drinks reception, where the atmosphere naturally becomes more relaxed and social.
For this part of the day we changed our setup slightly, switching to:
- Nord Stage piano
- Yamaha electric cello
This combination allows us to create a slightly bigger, more contemporary sound while still remaining entirely live.
Harry and Kayleigh asked us to take a “dealer’s choice” approach for the drinks reception, with a few broad musical preferences:
- Harry – film themes, Beatles, indie classics
- Kayleigh – Disney and pop favourites
This kind of brief is always fun for us because it allows us to shape the set list around the mood of the room, moving between well-known songs and instrumental arrangements that guests recognise as they chat and celebrate.

Live Music That Evolves Through the Day
One of the things we always aim to do at weddings is let the music evolve naturally as the day unfolds.
At Harry and Kayleigh’s wedding this worked perfectly:
- Acoustic piano and cello created an elegant atmosphere for the ceremony.
- Nord piano and electric cello brought a slightly livelier feel to the drinks reception.
The result was a seamless musical journey from the emotional moments of the ceremony to the relaxed celebrations afterwards.
Thank You Harry & Kayleigh
Harry and Kayleigh were a joy to work with from start to finish, and we’re so grateful they chose JAM Duo to be part of their wedding day at Colshaw Hall.
Kayleigh looked absolutely stunning, and the sky-blue colour scheme created a beautifully fresh spring feel to the day. With their close group of family and friends gathered to celebrate, it was a wedding full of warmth and genuine happiness.
Congratulations again to Harry and Kayleigh, and thank you for allowing us to provide the music for such a special day.
