Today we were in the New Forest, Hampshire at the lovely Balmer Lawn Hotel for Carrie and Mark’s Wedding. Our brief on this occasion was to provide music for the whole day. Starting with the wedding ceremony we would also be playing for an outdoor drinks reception, the wedding breakfast, the first dance and then into the evening.

Wedding Ceremony
Our music started around 30 minutes before the ceremony. Whilst the guests were only just beginning to arrive, Carrie had asked us to play for a good time before the ceremony just to create an atmosphere as people arrived at the venue.
Drinks Reception
After the ceremony we moved, complete with our piano shell outside into the sunshine. We carried on playing for around 90 minutes whilst guests enjoyed a glass or two of champagne. At this time of the day there are always many photographs to be captured and the bride and groom were lined up with all their various guests in various combinations!
We also have a photo of our own which we usually like to get from all our weddings… So much so it is becoming our trade mark photo and Carrie even commented when Jules asked…. Oh I’ve seen all your lovely photos with the other wedding couples. Indeed we replied and now this one is for you and Mark!
Wedding Breakfast
Moving back indoors for the wedding breakfast then put Jules centre stage as Carrie had requested mainly cocktail piano music during the meal.
Mostly improvising around a given theme, Jules can easily play jazz or cocktail style piano effortlessly for hours on end… or as long as anyone is prepared to listen! Nevertheless this style lends itself to the wedding breakfast. That said, Anne-Marie will also interject a few songs on the cello or occasional fill in with a bass line as needed.
First Dance and Evening Party
Moving over to the Electric Cello and a bigger PA system, JAM Duo were also providing music for the first dance as well as into the evening.
When it comes to getting the party started, our electric cello is ideal. Whether it’s playing a bass line to accompany the piano or the tune, with our larger PA system we can really get your guests on the dance floor.
