Today we stayed local in the small Gloucestershire town of Tetbury. Living as we do near Westonbirt this involved no more than a 10 minute drive to get to the wedding venue. After our recent excursions around the country, fun though that is, it was nice to leave home just moments before we needed to be at a wedding!

The Great Tythe Barn, Tetbury, Gloucestershire

Despite being a local venue, this was our first visit to the Great Tythe Barn in Tetbury. Also unusually our booking was just for 2 hours rather than a set time of the day. The idea was for us to play for around an hour of the drinks reception and then an hour of the meal.
As it happened we arrived and were set up early so in fact played for nearer two and a half hours, but this was absolutely fine.
The sun was shining for the duration of the drinks reception and before long it was then time to move indoors so we could also provide music during the wedding breakfast. Setting up to one side seemed to be the obvious choice as we needed to make a discreet exit after approximately an hour of playing.
