Our second visit to this lovely venue in 2 weeks was to play for the fabulous wedding of Alice and Michael. We began with the ‘Up’ theme form Married Life blended into The Glue Song for the bridal entrance. It’s always fab to have some new requests to add to the repertoire.
The Drinks Reception
We then moved outside with the black gloss shell to provide music for the drinks reception, playing requests such as In My Life, Demons, and Holly Holy. It was a pleasure to play for Alice and Michael and chat to their lovely guests;
We also really enjoyed being back at The Post Barn in Newbury. This is a relatively new venue and one which we find really welcoming and enjoyable to play in. The staff are very helpful and go out of their way to accommodate us in both the ceremony and drinks.
We certainly enjoyed the canapés as we were given our very own platter during the drinks reception, which is a first!
The weather had a few moments but luckily the venue has suitable cover around the building which enabled the guests to remain outside and we found a small shelter to one side where we could play from.
Some of the music we played during the Drinks Reception included:
Thousand years – Christina Perry
Better together – Jack Johnson
Holly Holy – Neil Diamond
I’ll get along – Michael Kiwanuka
Forrest Gump – Frank Ocean
Better Together – Jack Johnson
Wonderful Tonight – Eric Clapton
Can’t find the time to tell you – Orpheus
I’m in love with you – The 1975
Demons – Imagine Dragons
In my life – The Beatles
Just the way you are – Bruno Mars
Photograph – Ed Sheeran
We really enjoyed this wedding and we wish Alice and Michael the very best as they embark on their future married life together.
