Tucked away in the quaint town of Ormesby, near the delightful coastal destination of Great Yarmouth, lies a hidden gem that has stolen the hearts of couples seeking a magical setting for their wedding day – The Boathouse Wedding Venue. With its captivating waterside location, rustic charm, and warm ambiance, The Boathouse has become a sought-after haven for those yearning to say their “I dos” in a place of unforgettable beauty.

Situated on the serene banks of a tranquil waterway, The Boathouse offers a breathtaking backdrop for couples to exchange vows and embark on their journey of love. The picturesque setting is surrounded by the beauty of the Norfolk Broads, providing a sense of serenity and intimacy that is simply unparalleled. The natural beauty of the waterside gardens and the gentle lapping of the water against the shore create an atmosphere that exudes romance and sets the stage for a dreamy celebration.

This is where we found ourselves on 26 July 2023 for the beautiful wedding of Ebony and Jason.

The Ceremony

Starting outside we set up for the ceremony so we could provide music for the entrance of the bridal party, the signing of the register and then the couple exit.

A first for us, the bridal party all arrived by boat.

There were some lovely music choices at this wedding which included:

Pre Ceremony
It must be love
Isn’t she lovely
How deep is your love
Fly me to the moon
Dancing in the moonlight

Bridal Entrance
Can’t help falling in love and Canon in D blend (can’t help falling in love for bridesmaids entrance and canon in d for bride)

Signing
Hoppipola
La vie en rose

Exit
All you need is love

With a very long ‘aisle’ walk from the mooring point of the boat, it was good to have two songs to play for the bridal entrance.

The Drinks Reception and Meal

After the ceremony we were able to stay in place as the drinks reception took place on the terrace overlooking the water. The weather was also kind (at least until the early evening) and so it was a relative sun trap on the balcony of the venue.

After around 90 minutes we then moved indoors to provide music for the wedding breakfast where we included a mixture of jazz and contemporary covers to suit the mood.

After the meal we had a break of a couple of hours which gave us time to move our instruments again and set up, this time for the First Dance

The First Dance

It’s always our absolute pleasure to provide music for a couple’s first dance. On this occasion we were joined by Jason’s Grandad who sang along with us.

The song which Ebony and Jason had chosen was Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You. We provided a Mic for the singer and we had made sure we arrived at the venue a little earlier before the ceremony to have a short practice with Jason’s Grandad for this special performance.

As it turned out, he was amazing and it was a really romantic and beautiful moment being part of Ebony and Jason’s first dance.

We really enjoyed being part of Ebony and Jason’s wedding and we wish them every happiness in their future married life together.
