Drinks Reception
Located just a short drive along the M4 corridor, today’s wedding brought us to the elegant surroundings of The Vineyard Hotel in Newbury—a stunning venue renowned for its luxurious atmosphere and impeccable service.
Our role for this occasion was to provide live music during the drinks reception, creating a refined and welcoming ambiance for guests as they arrived from the ceremony, which had taken place at a separate location earlier in the day.
Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Charlotte, the wedding coordinator, who ensured everything was perfectly in place. She guided us to our performance area—a stylish corner of the California Bar—where we set up our black gloss piano shell alongside the Yamaha electric cello. This space offered the ideal backdrop for our duo’s performance, complementing the sophisticated aesthetic of the venue.
As we had arrived with time to spare, we were able to set up comfortably and run a sound check well in advance of the guests’ arrival. With everything in position and the music ready to go, we took the opportunity to relax with a coffee in the hotel’s inviting lounge before beginning our performance.
It was a pleasure to perform at such a well-organised and beautifully presented venue, and we thoroughly enjoyed contributing to the atmosphere of what was clearly a very special day.
