Bourton Hall, nestled in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside near Rugby, is a stunning example of Italianate architecture with roots dating back to the 18th century. Originally constructed as a private estate, the Hall was built on land that had been part of the historic Draycote Manor, evolving into an elegant country residence designed to reflect the wealth and status of its owners.

The building, with its classical proportions and ornate detailing, was later extended and enhanced during the 19th century, incorporating grand interiors, sweeping staircases, and landscaped gardens with far-reaching views of the surrounding countryside. Over the decades, Bourton Hall passed through the hands of several prominent families, serving as both a luxurious private home and, at times, a centre of community life.

In the mid-20th century, like many great country houses, the Hall saw a change in use due to shifting social and economic factors. It was at various points used for religious and educational purposes, most notably as a Catholic pastoral centre and seminary, which preserved much of its architectural integrity while adapting the interior for communal use.

In recent years, Bourton Hall has been beautifully restored and sensitively transformed into an exclusive-use wedding venue. The refurbishment has honoured the building’s rich heritage, blending period elegance with modern comforts. Today, couples can marry in the former chapel, enjoy drinks in the Italian Room, and dine beneath chandeliers in the opulent banqueting hall.

Now part of the Country House Weddings portfolio, Bourton Hall offers a refined and romantic setting for wedding celebrations, maintaining its legacy as a place of beauty, celebration, and shared experience.

For the ceremony we set up in the beautiful chapel at Bourton Hall. There was the option of being on the balcony but this would have required us to get ourselves and our instruments up another spiral staircase. As there was space we opted to set up at the rear of the ceremony room which also made it easier to perfectly time the blend of two songs which Agata had chosen for her bridal entrance.

After the ceremony, whilst the couple and their guests were outside we moved our piano and PA system to the meal room for the wedding breakfast later in the afternoon. Having done this, we took our cello and set up alongside the venue’s grand piano so we could continue entertaining the guests during the drinks reception.

During both the drinks reception and the meal the couple had requested modern and upbeat songs to set the vibe.

We really enjoyed being a part of this fabulous wedding and we wish Agata and Adam every happiness as they embark on their married future together.
