Every wedding has its own unique charm, and Pete and Rebecca’s celebration at Elmore Court was a perfect example of how live music can elevate even the most intimate part of the day. JAM Duo had the pleasure of providing music for their wedding ceremony in the Great Hall – a beautiful, atmospheric space that suited the emotion and elegance of the occasion perfectly.

Elmore Court – A Venue We Always Love

Elmore Court is one of our absolute favourite wedding venues in Gloucestershire. This stunning Grade II listed mansion, set within idyllic countryside and overlooking the River Severn, combines historic grandeur with a laid-back, contemporary charm that makes every wedding feel both elegant and personal.

As musicians, we always feel incredibly welcome here. The venue staff are not only professional but also genuinely lovely to work with – attentive, supportive, and always making sure everything runs smoothly for couples and suppliers alike. It’s the kind of place where you just know the day is going to be special.

The Ceremony – Music and Emotion in the Great Hall

The ceremony took place in the magnificent Great Hall, with its high ceilings, antique décor, and a real sense of timeless romance. It’s a space that lends itself beautifully to live music – the acoustics are warm and resonant, allowing our cello and piano to blend perfectly.

As always, we set up with Jules at the Nord Stage Piano inside our gloss black piano shell, and Anne-Marie on her Yamaha electric cello, creating the rich, emotional sound that defines JAM Duo.

We began with a carefully curated pre-ceremony playlist as guests arrived and found their seats. Pete and Rebecca’s choices struck a beautiful balance between fun, romance, and sentiment:

  • All the Small Things – Blink 182
  • Iris – Goo Goo Dolls
  • What a Wonderful World – Louis Armstrong
  • Love Story – Taylor Swift
  • She – Elvis Costello
  • I Say a Little Prayer – Aretha Franklin
  • L-O-V-E – Nat King Cole

Each song was arranged for piano and cello, bringing a fresh, instrumental twist to these classics. The warm timbre of the cello paired with the expressive piano lines created a gentle, joyful atmosphere – the perfect prelude to the ceremony itself.

A Seamless Bridal Entrance – With Musical Precision

One of the highlights of this ceremony was undoubtedly the bridal entrance, which was carefully choreographed to involve not one, but two separate pieces of music.

As the bridesmaids began to walk down the aisle, we played Lover by Taylor Swift – a modern romantic favourite that set the tone beautifully. Then, with a perfectly timed and seamless transition, we moved into Canon in D by Pachelbel for Rebecca’s entrance. The classic elegance of Canon in D contrasted beautifully with the contemporary vibe of the previous piece, marking that special moment with grace and grandeur.

Even the registrar commented on the transition, noting that it showed “true musical talent.” It’s these moments – subtle, emotional, and technically skilled – that we love to bring to every ceremony. We’re always working behind the scenes to ensure the music flows effortlessly, enhancing the experience without a single hitch.

Music for the Signing and the Exit

After the vows and the exchange of rings, the newlyweds took a few moments to sign the register. For this part of the ceremony, Pete and Rebecca had chosen two wonderfully upbeat and heartfelt songs:

  • Accidentally in Love – Counting Crows
  • Friday I’m in Love – The Cure

Both pieces added a light, joyful mood to the moment and worked wonderfully with the couple’s vibrant personalities. We kept the arrangements soft enough to allow for quiet conversations and photographs, while still maintaining the joyful energy of the moment.

And then, with guests rising to their feet and smiles all around, we played This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) by Natalie Cole for the exit – an uplifting and celebratory choice that ended the ceremony on the highest of notes. The upbeat rhythm and soulful melody filled the Great Hall with warmth and excitement, echoing the happiness shared by everyone in the room.

A Heartfelt Thank You

Although JAM Duo were only performing for the ceremony on this occasion, we were honoured to be part of such a special and emotional moment in Pete and Rebecca’s day. It’s always a privilege to be trusted with the music for a couple’s vows – the moment they officially begin their journey together – and we approach it with the care, detail, and professionalism that each couple deserves.

Thank you so much to Pete and Rebecca for inviting us to be a part of your wedding at Elmore Court. You were a joy to work with, and your music choices made for a truly memorable ceremony.

🎻 Real musicians. Real instruments. No backing tracks. Just heartfelt, live music tailored to your love story.

If you’re getting married at Elmore Court – or anywhere else – and are looking for live music to enhance your ceremony, we’d love to help make it unforgettable.
