At JAM Duo, we have the privilege of providing the soundtrack to many unforgettable wedding days – and Rachel and George’s celebration at Bredenbury Court Barns was no exception. Set against the backdrop of Herefordshire’s rolling countryside, this stunning venue offered the perfect setting for a joyful, music-filled wedding, and we were delighted to be a part of it from the very first note to the final chord.
Bredenbury Court Barns – A Venue We Love
Bredenbury Court Barns is one of those venues that instantly captivates both couples and guests. With its striking blend of historic charm and contemporary elegance, the venue features a light-filled orangery for ceremonies, spacious terraces with panoramic views, and the impressive Oak Barn for dining and evening celebrations. Every space is designed with beauty and practicality in mind – and from a musician’s perspective, it’s a dream to perform in.
Having played here several times before, we always enjoy returning. The staff are welcoming and efficient, the acoustics in each space are excellent, and the layout allows us to transition seamlessly through the day. It’s a venue that really understands how to host a celebration – and Rachel and George’s wedding was a shining example.
The Ceremony – Romance in the Orangery
The day began in the elegant Orangery, where we set up to provide live music for the ceremony. This light-filled space, with its arched windows and views of the Herefordshire landscape, created a serene and romantic atmosphere for Rachel and George’s vows.
Our setup included Jules on the Nord Stage Piano, enclosed within our gloss black piano shell for that sleek grand piano look, and Anne-Marie on her Yamaha electric cello, producing the warm, lyrical tones that define the JAM Duo sound.
As guests arrived and took their seats, we performed a carefully selected playlist of pre-ceremony favourites, setting the emotional tone with:
- Lover – Taylor Swift
- Halo
- Christmas Is All Around Me (a playful nod to a beloved rom-com)
- Never Enough
- Hero – Enrique Iglesias
Each piece was arranged in our signature style – blending the rich warmth of the cello with the expressive piano to evoke the perfect balance of sentiment and elegance.
As the moment came for Rachel to make her entrance, the air filled with the familiar, heartfelt strains of A Thousand Years(inspired by The Piano Guys’ arrangement). All eyes turned as she entered, looking absolutely stunning in her beautiful dress, radiating joy and elegance.
During the signing of the register, we kept the Love Actually theme going with two romantic and cinematic favourites: Portuguese Love Theme and PM’s Love Theme – both adding a touch of charm and sentimentality.
For the couple’s joyful exit, we played Together in Electric Dreams, which brought smiles all round and set a wonderful, upbeat tone for the celebration ahead.

The Drinks Reception – Sunshine, Laughter and Music
Following the ceremony, guests flowed onto the terrace to enjoy drinks, canapés and beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. We relocated swiftly and discreetly, as always, ensuring the music never missed a beat.
For the drinks reception, Rachel and George requested a joyful and contemporary vibe – nothing too sombre – and we were more than happy to oblige. With a mix of film scores, musical theatre favourites, and modern classics, we kept the atmosphere lively and light-hearted.
While there wasn’t a set song list for this part of the day, we selected tracks from our extensive repertoire that matched the brief – upbeat melodies, familiar tunes, and a touch of musical theatre flair to keep spirits high and toes tapping. It’s always a pleasure to read the mood of the moment and tailor the performance to suit the guests’ energy, which is something we pride ourselves on.
The Wedding Breakfast – A Feast of Music and Memories
As guests made their way into the magnificent Oak Barn for the wedding breakfast, we were once again on hand to provide a seamless musical transition. We began with River Flows In You – a gentle, flowing piano and cello piece that created the perfect mood as people found their seats and conversations began.
The setlist for the wedding breakfast was a joyful mix of modern classics, cinematic themes, and emotional ballads, all arranged in our signature cello and piano style. Among the highlights were:
- Bittersweet Symphony
- The Shire (from Lord of the Rings)
- Save Your Tears – The Weeknd
- Le Onde – Ludovico Einaudi
- Flight of the Bumblebee – for a fun injection of pace and virtuosity
- I Will Always Love You – tender and expressive
- The Office (US) Theme Song – a surprise hit that brought laughter
- Rule the World – Take That
- Africa – Toto
- All You Need Is Love
- Every Breath You Take
- Dancing in the Moonlight
- A Sky Full of Stars – Coldplay
- Angels – Robbie Williams
- Game of Thrones Theme
- Jurassic Park Theme – always a crowd-pleaser
- Brown Eyed Girl
- Demons – Imagine Dragons
- Dancing On My Own (Bridgerton version)
- Yellow – Coldplay
This eclectic mix gave us a chance to showcase the versatility of the JAM Duo sound – from intimate ballads to cinematic soundscapes and uplifting pop. With our live cello and piano, every piece retained a human warmth and emotional depth that pre-recorded music simply can’t match.
Seamless Transitions and Professional Delivery
One of the key things our couples often comment on is how effortlessly we move between different parts of the day, maintaining the musical flow while adjusting our style and sound to suit each setting. At Rachel and George’s wedding, this was no different.
From the elegant ceremony to the sun-drenched terrace, and finally into the warmth of the Oak Barn, we ensured each transition was smooth, professional and unobtrusive – allowing the music to enhance the day without ever dominating it.
And of course, the JAM Duo look – with our smart attire, sleek piano shell, and custom lighting – meant we blended perfectly into the beautiful styling of the venue.
A Word of Thanks
We’d like to say a huge thank you to Rachel and George for choosing JAM Duo to be part of their special day. It was truly a pleasure to perform for you and your lovely guests, and we’re so glad the music helped to create the atmosphere you imagined.
