From Final Fantasy to Elton John – A Beautiful Day for Will & Kerry at Peak Edge Hotel

There’s something wonderfully romantic about a wedding in the Derbyshire countryside — and Peak Edge Hotel, near Chesterfield, delivers that in spades. With panoramic views of rolling hills and a modern, elegant venue that still feels connected to nature, it’s the kind of place where you expect the sun to shine and the birds to sing.
Well… the birds did their part. The sun? Not so much.
A Change of Plan — and a Smooth Relocation
Will and Kerry had planned a beautiful outdoor ceremony, complete with countryside views and fresh summer air. But as British weather would have it, rain clouds had other ideas. Just before guests arrived, the decision was made to move the ceremony indoors — and that’s where JAM Duo’s flexibility came in.
With minimal fuss, we relocated our piano shell and cello setup into the indoor ceremony space, helping to preserve the calm, elegant atmosphere the couple had envisioned. No drama — just a little furniture shuffle and some musical magic.
Ceremony Music with a Touch of Fantasy
The music Will and Kerry chose for their ceremony was a beautifully personal blend of emotion, elegance, and a subtle nod to their shared love of cinematic and video game scores.
As guests arrived, we performed a pre-ceremony set that created a gentle, immersive ambiance:

For Kerry’s bridal entrance, we performed a touching rendition of “Your Song” by Elton John, perfectly timed to her walk down the aisle. The warmth of the music matched the moment beautifully — simple, sincere, and full of heart.
During the signing of the register, the tone turned reflective with:

After a heartfelt ceremony (and a quick venue switch thanks to the rain!), the celebration for Will and Kerry carried on in style at Peak Edge Hotel. With the skies still grey outside, the atmosphere indoors was anything but gloomy. Guests were treated to an afternoon and evening of live music, laughter, and love — and we were thrilled to be right at the heart of it all.
Drinks Reception – Soundtrack to a Warm Welcome
With guests mingling, toasting the happy couple, and warming up from the drizzle, we created a chilled but uplifting musical backdrop for the indoor drinks reception. Even though the weather kept us inside, the music transported everyone somewhere much brighter.

Wedding Breakfast – Live Piano, Laid-Back Luxury
As everyone took their seats for the wedding breakfast, we changed pace — and style. Out came our grand piano shell (yes, we bring the classy visuals too!) and Jules switched into cocktail piano mode, blending smooth melodies with soft jazz touches and the occasional surprise cover to keep things interesting.
