The first day of the school Summer Holidays wasn’t perhaps the best day to be travelling down the M5 in the direction of Cornwall. Fortunately however, we had allowed plenty of time for our journey from the Cotswolds down to Crowcombe Court in Somerset and so we arrived with plenty of time to set up.
The ceremony, as we were still before so called ‘freedom day’ was being held outside in the lovely grounds of Crowcombe Court.
We set up to one side of the main ceremony area and awaited the arrival of the Bride. Right on time, Orla walked up the aisle to ‘The Scientist’ by Coldplay. Looking resplendent in white, Orla was preceded by her bridesmaids.
Following the short ceremony, JAM Duo then repositioned in the shade – it was quite possibly the hottest day of the year so far and the cello was feeling the heat – as indeed were the rest of us!
For the next hour or so we entertained the guests as they mingled outside with Champagne and ice cream – yes there was proper ice cream being served at the drinks reception! What a splendid piece of foresight that was given the temperature was heading above 30 degrees C.
The Dress
