After our jaunt up to Scotland, today we were a little nearer home in Somerset for the beautiful commitment ceremony for Sarah and Andy.
Arriving at Haselbury Mill, we soon found ourselves in what turns out to be a very special Somerset venue which was ideal for this lovely couple. Sarah and Andy, as we found out, were about as well suited to each other as it is possible to be, despite only meeting in lockdown in early 2020.
The Ceremony
This was to be a hand fasting ceremony and it was conducted beautifully and quite possibly one of the most romantic weddings we have been involved in. Not only that, there was a very special guest of honour which you can see in the picture below.
After the ceremony, we moved outside for the drinks reception. It was a lovely sunny day so the only real challenge was finding somewhere to keep our iPads out of the sun!
JAM Duo played outside a range of songs which Sarah and Andy had chosen with the drinks reception lasting around an hour or just over. Once again using our Yamaha Electric Cello and Digital Piano we were able to set the volumes appropriately to provide ambient music whilst the guests enjoyed champagne. After one song, we even got an impromptu round of applause!
It was soon time to move back indoors for the Wedding Breakfast which was in the same place as the ceremony.
Every now and then there was a rumble of people banging on the tables and tinkling knives onto their glasses. We assumed at first this meant there were to be some speeches. But no in fact it was much lovelier than that. It was a cue for Andy and Sarah to kiss. Which they did – lots!
