Following our trip to Richmond on Thames yesterday, this morning we were once again heading North. There were a couple of weddings involved in this particular trip and the first one was for Katie and Dan at Staunton Harold Hall in Leicestershire near to Ashby De La Zouch.

Arriving in good time we found our way upstairs to the ceremony room and set up at the back. Our usual basis for wedding ceremonies is that we will play for around 15 to 20 minutes as the guests arrive and start to take their seats.

The ceremony was beautifully conducted by the registrars from the Leicestershire Registration Service. It’s always especially pleasing when we get a mention – not that we are there to be thanked, but nevertheless its nice!

After the ceremony we made our way back downstairs to set up ready for the drinks reception. The weather, as is often the way was a bit ‘iffy’ and so we elected to play indoors but use our electric cello which meant the music could be heard both indoors and outside.

We really enjoyed playing at Staunton Harold Hall and it was aided by the plethora of sweet treats which we were ‘forced upon us’ by Katie and Dan! 🙂

Wedding Breakfast

Today we were also providing music during the wedding breakfast. But again this was a simple move just into the adjacent room.

We were fascinated by the books on the centre of each table – and never did find out the relevance! But either way it was a lovely touch and certainly different!
