It’s always slightly awkward writing about awards.
Not because they don’t matter at all — but because, in the context of what we do, they’re never really the point.
That said, it would feel equally odd not to acknowledge something that reflects the work we put into JAM Duo day in, day out. So, quietly and without too much fuss, we’re pleased to share that we’ve recently been recognised with two awards:
- Best Daytime Wedding Entertainment Act 2026
- LUXlife Client Satisfaction Excellence Award 2026
They’re not the sort of accolades that redefine a business overnight. But they do sit quite neatly alongside what we’ve always focused on — consistency, professionalism, and delivering something genuinely reliable for every couple we work with.
What These Awards Actually Reflect
Awards in the wedding industry can mean many different things.
Some are based on public votes, some on editorial selection, some on client feedback. They vary in scale and recognition, and it’s important to be honest about that.
For us, the most meaningful part of these particular awards is what sits behind them.
The Best Daytime Wedding Entertainment Act recognition aligns closely with how we position ourselves — not as evening performers, not as background filler, but as specialists in the daytime flow of a wedding:
- The arrival of guests
- The ceremony itself
- The drinks reception and early atmosphere
These are the moments where music has the greatest influence on how a wedding feels. And they’re also the moments where experience and control matter most.
The Client Satisfaction Excellence Award perhaps says even more.
Because ultimately, that’s the part we can’t manufacture.
It reflects how couples experience us — not just musically, but professionally:
- Communication before the wedding
- Reliability on the day
- Calm, unobtrusive presence
- The ability to adapt without needing direction
That’s the real measure of what we do.
Why We Don’t Chase Awards
If you spend any time in the wedding industry, you’ll quickly notice how easy it is to get drawn into the world of awards, rankings, and badges.
There’s nothing inherently wrong with that. But it’s also not how we’ve ever chosen to operate.
JAM Duo has always been built around a different priority: doing the job properly, every time.
Most of our work comes from:
- Word of mouth
- Venue recommendations
- Couples who have seen us perform at another wedding
That kind of growth doesn’t come from entering awards. It comes from consistently delivering a level of quality that people trust.
So while it’s genuinely nice to be recognised, it’s never been the driver.
The Reality Behind “Client Satisfaction”
“Client satisfaction” is one of those phrases that can sound a bit generic.
But in practice, it’s very specific.
It’s not about being flashy or attention-grabbing. It’s about getting the details right — often the details that no one explicitly notices, but everyone feels.
For example:
- Starting exactly when the ceremony needs to begin, without hesitation
- Adjusting timing if a bride takes longer to walk down the aisle
- Keeping the atmosphere flowing naturally during drinks without awkward gaps
- Reading the room — knowing when to lift the energy and when to hold it back
None of this is complicated in theory. But it relies on experience, awareness, and a certain level of musical control.
And that’s where working as a dedicated duo really comes into its own.
Consistency Over Everything
One of the reasons we’re able to maintain that level of consistency is simply that we work as a fixed duo.
It’s always Jules on piano and Anne-Marie on cello.
There’s no rotation of musicians, no variation in line-up, no uncertainty about how the music will come together on the day.
That consistency allows us to:
- Maintain a clear musical standard
- Deliver arrangements exactly as intended
- Adapt quickly without needing to coordinate with additional players
It also means that what couples see and hear online is exactly what they get on the day.
That might sound obvious, but it isn’t always the case across the industry.
A Quiet Approach to Doing Things Well
We’ve never been particularly interested in making a lot of noise about what we do.
There’s a certain style in the wedding world that leans heavily on big statements — “unforgettable,” “show-stopping,” “the ultimate experience.”
That’s not really us.
Our approach is much simpler:
- Play well
- Be reliable
- Fit naturally into the day
- Support the couple without becoming the focus
If the music feels effortless, if guests feel comfortable, if the day flows without interruption — then we’ve done our job.
In many ways, that’s what these awards are quietly recognising.
A Reflection of the Weddings We’re Part Of
Any recognition like this is also, in a way, a reflection of the weddings themselves.
The couples we work with tend to value:
- Atmosphere over volume
- Quality over quantity
- Subtlety over spectacle
They’re not looking for a performance that dominates the day. They’re looking for something that enhances it.
And that makes our job both easier and more rewarding.
Because when the expectations are aligned, everything settles into place more naturally.

Looking Ahead
We’ll continue to do what we’ve always done.
There’s no change in direction off the back of this, no shift in how we operate.
If anything, it’s just a quiet reminder that the approach we’ve taken — focusing on a refined duo sound, maintaining high musical standards, and keeping things consistent — is the right one for us.
A Simple Thank You
It would feel incomplete not to acknowledge the people who make all of this possible.
To the couples who book us, trust us, and allow us to be part of such important moments — thank you.
To the venues who recommend us and continue to welcome us back — thank you.
And to everyone who has taken the time to send a kind message, leave feedback, or simply say that the music added something to their day — that’s what matters most.
In the End
Awards are, at best, a snapshot.
They recognise a moment in time, a level of consistency, a standard being met.
But what really matters is what happens week in, week out — at every ceremony, every drinks reception, every wedding where the music needs to simply work.
That’s where our focus remains.
And if these awards reflect that in some small way, then they’ve served their purpose.
