With wedding season now back in full swing, this was our third wedding in a row. Starting at Orchardleigh for Sophie and Charlie, we then travelled to Poole for Tessa and Alex before heading to Shedfield for today’s wedding.

This was in fact our second wedding at the delightful Three Choirs Vineyard in Shedfield as we were there last year for the wedding of Emma and Paul.

The Wedding Ceremony

Leanne and David’s big day started, of course, with their wedding ceremony. This was held outside in the lovely grounds of the Three Choirs Vineyard with the vines as a backdrop. The sun was shining and it was a perfect day for an outdoor wedding.

Setting up on the grass with our piano shell, JAM Duo provided a blend of lovely music whilst the guests arrived and took their seats in readiness for the entrance of the bride.

Leanne arrived right on time and walked down the ‘aisle’ to ‘A Thousand Years’ by Christina Perri (arranged for Cello and Piano by JAM Duo). You can hear our version of this song by heading over to our listen page.

The next point in the ceremony where music is required is during the signing of the register. At this point, Leanne had chosen 4 songs. As the singing nowadays doesn’t take too long – in fact most of the time is taken up by photographs, we abridged each song and seamlessly blended them together. This way we filled the few minutes during the signing but made sure Leanne and David could hear at least some of all the songs they had chosen.

At the end of the ceremony, Leanne and David walked out together as husband and wife to the song ‘On Top of the World’ by Imagine Dragons. What a fabulous choice for such a lovely couple.

Wedding Drinks Reception

After the ceremony we relocated to the other side of the venue for a drinks reception in a small courtyard area. Even with our piano shell, this is a fairly easy move and took us no more than 10 minutes before we were ready to play again.

With at least these two parts of the day being outside we had chosen to use the electric cello as this is easier to ‘amplify’. We are not there to ‘rock out’ but nevertheless, outdoors a little amplification is usually better and ensures we can balance the cello and piano to just the right volume to provide ambient background music which is not intrusive but nevertheless can be heard!

The Wedding Breakfast

At around 4pm, we made our third move of the day, this time inside for the wedding breakfast. Knowing that afterwards we were playing for the first dance, we set up near the dancefloor which also suited for the provision of music during the meal. To make things really easy for us, we were helped a lot by some extremely organised and efficient wedding planners at the Three Choirs.

We had been given another list of songs to play during the wedding breakfast and we also included the full length of the four songs chosen during the signing of the register.

After the meal there was a short break for around 45 minutes before the first dance. Leanne and David had kindly provided us with a meal. And we can safely say the food at Three Choirs Vineyard is also fantastic!

The First Dance

Our final musical involvement at Leanne and David’s wedding was to play for their first dance prior to the DJ taking over proceedings. The song they had chosen was Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison.

JAM Duo – Music for your Wedding Day

Jules and Anne-Marie absolutely loved being part of Leanne and David’s wedding at the Three Choirs Vineyard in Hampshire. They are two very lovely people and we wish them every happiness in their married life together.

It’s also worth giving a special mention to the staff and wedding planners at the Three Choirs Vineyard. They were amongst the most helpful and organised that we have ever come across and it was such a pleasure knowing that everything was being well organised. As a result everything ran like clockwork and all the transitions from one part of the day to the next were absolutely seamless.
