Today we stayed local in the Cotswolds to provide music for Sophie and Jordan’s Wedding Ceremony at St John the Baptist Church in Randwick near Stroud, Gloucestershire.
Arriving in good time, as we always do for church ceremonies, we were fortunate to find parking on the road outside the church. This is quite a key issue for us as otherwise, particularly with church weddings, it can be a very long walk with all our instruments and other kit.
Today therefore, we were set up in plenty of time ahead of the Ceremony starting at 1pm.
As well as performing as a Duo Jules was also booked to play the organ for the hymns during the service. As a professional organist who has played at many Cathedrals across the UK including York Minster, Canterbury, Hereford, Gloucester, Guildford, Coventry and many more, Jules is very familiar not only with hymn playing but also the structure of church services and weddings. You are therefore in very safe hands when it comes to having an organist. This, dare we say it, is not always the case with a parish church organist!
Anyway the service began with the bridal entrance and Sophie came in, along with her bridesmaids to our arrangement of Here comes the Sun.
Other music in the service included:
Signing
All you need is love (Beatles)
Exit
Can’t take my eyes off of you- Frankie Valli
This will be an everlasting love
Today we were only providing music for Sophie and Jordan’s ceremony and so our participation was brief but nevertheless we really enjoyed being part of this lovely occasion.
We wish Sophie and Jordan every happiness as they embark on a new married life together.
