Magnificent Westonbirt House, one of the finest Victorian stately homes in England, is a truly memorable venue for weddings, celebrations, special occasions and corporate events.
Westonbirt was created by Robert Holford, one of the wealthiest men in Britain, who spared no expense to build a sumptuous house to display his collection of fine art and furniture. Built between 1863 and 1870 to replace the earlier Elizabethan manor, it may have been the most expensive house built during the Victorian period. It sits in 210 acres of beautiful gardens and landscaped parkland in the heart of the Cotswolds, and overlooks the famous Westonbirt National Arboretum, once part of the estate.
The interior is pure Victorian theatre. Everything is luxurious and furnished to the very highest standard, with oak and walnut panelling. Highlights of the house include original 19th-century silk wallpaper and embossed Cordoba leather wall coverings. In the Great Hall is a stunning fireplace of Carrara marble and the library retains its original built-in bookcases.
Ceremonies
Both the Library (up to 100 guests) and the Great Hall (up to 200 guests) are licensed for marriage ceremonies.
Beautiful St Catherine’s Chapel in the gardens is also available for wedding blessings. Ex-pupils of Westonbirt School may also have a full wedding service there.

The Great Hall
The heart of the house. The perfect reception room for dinner and dancing. The Great Hall is also licensed to hold ceremonies for up to 200 guests.
The Reading Room
A light and bright room with access out to the Gardens. Typically used as a bar area for larger events, but the choice is completely yours.
The Library
Beautifully restored to its former glory, this exquisite room is licensed for civil ceremonies, but also provides the perfect space for an indoor drinks reception, or even wedding breakfast. In colder months, the fire can be lit and the room made into a comfy lounge area.
The Dining Room
Used as a dining room for nearly 150 years, the wonderfully decorative ceiling and silk covered walls make this the ideal place for wedding breakfast. Light and airy, your guests will certainly enjoy this dining experience.
