JAM Duo had the pleasure of providing live music for Beth and Mark’s beautiful wedding at Bredenbury Court Barns in the heart of Herefordshire. From the moment guests arrived at the elegant orangery for the ceremony to the relaxed, joyful atmosphere out on the terrace during the drinks reception, every note was played live—no backing tracks, no shortcuts—just piano, cello, and real emotion.

This was a wedding full of warmth, joy, and style. Beth looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress, and the entire day reflected the couple’s personality, taste, and love for one another. It was an honour to be part of it.

The Venue: Bredenbury Court Barns

Set against the backdrop of the Herefordshire countryside, Bredenbury Court Barns offers a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern elegance. With its light-filled orangery and panoramic terrace views, it’s a dream venue for couples looking to host a timeless and intimate celebration.

Beth and Mark made full use of the space, holding their ceremony indoors before taking the party outside to the terrace for drinks and music in the afternoon sunshine. The transitions between settings were seamless, and the atmosphere throughout the day was relaxed, elegant, and full of joy.

Ceremony Music in the Orangery

Beth and Mark chose a carefully curated mix of contemporary songs for their ceremony, and we loved bringing these choices to life.

Pre-Ceremony Music:

  • Love Story – Taylor Swift
  • Love Me Like You Do – Ellie Goulding
  • Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) – Green Day
  • Paradise – Coldplay
  • Sweet Child O’ Mine – Guns N’ Roses

As guests arrived and took their seats, these songs set the tone—romantic but modern, emotional without being heavy. The orangery’s natural acoustics allowed the cello and piano to resonate beautifully, creating an immersive sound without the need for amplification.

Bridal Entrance:

  • A Million Dreams
  • A Thousand Years

For Beth’s entrance, we performed a seamless medley of these two emotionally powerful pieces. The cello carried the melody with a warm, lyrical tone while the piano created a cinematic build—perfect for the moment she walked down the aisle.

Signing the Register:

  • I Get To Love You – Ruelle
  • Hero – Enrique Iglesias

These intimate choices gave everyone a moment to breathe and reflect during the signing. Soft, expressive playing from both instruments ensured the music complemented rather than overpowered this quiet, special part of the ceremony.

Exit Music:

  • A Sky Full of Stars – Coldplay

To close the ceremony on a high, we performed this upbeat, celebratory Coldplay track—transformed for piano and cello into a dynamic and joyful recessional. It lifted the mood and set the tone for the drinks reception that followed.

Drinks Reception on the Terrace

As guests made their way out to the sunlit terrace, we relocated with them, thanks in part to the debut of our new Yamaha speaker system. This compact yet powerful system allowed us to enhance our sound discreetly, ensuring music filled the space without ever overwhelming it. Even outdoors, every nuance of the live cello and piano could be heard clearly.

Beth and Mark had a shorter playlist for the reception, but it packed a punch:

  • Stand By Me – Ben E. King
  • Pink Pony Club – Chappell Roan

Both songs were fun and heartfelt, encouraging smiles and conversation while guests sipped champagne and enjoyed the views. Our ability to adapt arrangements for just piano and cello means we can bring a new dimension to well-known songs—keeping them familiar, but adding elegance and warmth. We then continued with more songs in the same vein as these two keeping an update celebration.

The JAM Duo Difference

Beth and Mark’s wedding was a shining example of what makes JAM Duo unique. We don’t use backing tracks. We don’t fake anything. Every sound you hear is played live, on the spot, by two professional musicians with years of performance experience.

  • Jules plays the Nord Piano 5, known for its rich tone and responsive touch.
  • Anne-Marie performs on a Yamaha Electric Cello, delivering a warm and expressive tone with the versatility to suit both indoor and outdoor settings.

This combination allows us to be flexible and responsive to the moment—speeding up, slowing down, and adjusting dynamics in real time. It’s a level of musicality that simply can’t be achieved with pre-recorded tracks or generic wedding playlists.

A Personal Thank You

To Beth and Mark—thank you. Thank you for trusting us with such an important part of your day. Your song choices were thoughtful and meaningful, and we truly enjoyed playing for you and your guests. It was a pleasure to witness your love and to add to the emotion and celebration through our music.

Your wedding also marked a special milestone for JAM Duo, as it was the first official outing for our new Yamaha speaker system. It performed beautifully, and we were thrilled to use it for such a joyful and memorable event.
