Choosing the right music for your loved one’s funeral is a good way of making the service personal and giving it meaning. Music has the power to express when words alone are not enough. Nowhere is this more relevant and meaningful than when you are saying your last goodbye.

Things to consider when choosing funeral music

When it comes to choosing music for a funeral this should always be a personal choice. Some people are very specific and will leave instructions regarding their preference of music for their funeral. Others rely on family members to pick something suitable.

The most important thing is to make a personal choice. JAM Duo have had all manner of requests when it comes to the provision of music at funeral and memorial services. For inspiration please visit our listen page where you will find a wide range of pieces recorded by Jules and Anne-Marie.

Music is a simple way to personalise the ceremony and often sets the tone for the entire service – joyful, sad, uplifting. Don’t forget, a funeral should be a celebration of life and music can be an important part of this celebration.

If you’ve got a particular song or piece of music in mind that you’d like to discuss in more detail, please get in touch with us via our contact form.

JAM Duo Cello and Piano

Jules and Anne-Marie have provided music for funerals and memorial services all over the UK. As well as our ‘normal’ duo being Piano and Cello, Jules is also a church organist so we can blend the cello with organ if appropriate.

Making sure you have the right music for your loved ones funeral is an important decision.

Whilst there are in excess of 200 pieces on our ‘listen‘ page, these are simply to give inspiration to our clients and show the styles we can perform. When it comes to repertoire, JAM Duo can play anything of your choosing. Simply get in touch and let us know what music you would really like.

Organist for Church Services

As well as being the pianist for JAM Duo, Jules is also a cathedral standard organist. You may not want the organ for all musical elements of the funeral or memorial service but sometimes people like organ accompaniment to hymns for example. Jules can offer both hymns and / or a voluntary on the organ as part of the package. Just let us know what you prefer.

Below is a short video of Jules playing the organ at Coventry Cathedral just before the morning service.
