We were honoured to provide live music for Kate and Jimmy’s stunning wedding in Norfolk. Held at the historic Church of St Peter & St Paul in Mautby, the ceremony was one of the most heartfelt and memorable church services we’ve had the privilege to be part of.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear this was going to be something special. The setting, the people, the atmosphere—it all came together in a truly meaningful celebration of love. JAM Duo were delighted to provide music throughout the ceremony, enhancing each moment with our signature combination of live cello and piano.
The Church: St Peter & St Paul, Mautby
Nestled in the Norfolk countryside, St Peter & St Paul is a peaceful, centuries-old parish church full of character. With its high vaulted ceilings, natural acoustics, and classic English charm, it offered the perfect backdrop for a traditional yet deeply personal wedding service.
The church is part of the wider Benefice, and the service was beautifully led by Reverend Deborah Walton, Vicar and Team Missioner. Her warmth, sincerity, and sense of occasion made the entire service feel intimate and profound. We’ve played in many churches over the years, but this one stood out—not just for the beauty of the building, but for the genuine feeling of community and love that filled it.
Live Music for the Ceremony
Kate and Jimmy chose a small but powerful selection of songs that made a real impact. We were set up at the front of the church, with Jules on the Nord Piano 5 and Anne-Marie on her Yamaha Electric Cello. This setup allowed us to blend seamlessly with the setting and deliver music that felt organic and alive.
Bridal Entrance:
- I Get to Love You – Ruelle
This was a perfect choice for the bridal entrance. The soft, emotional beginning gave space for the moment, and as the music swelled, it underscored the significance of Kate’s walk down the aisle. There wasn’t a dry eye in sight. The cello carried the melody with warmth, while the piano provided a gentle foundation, echoing beautifully in the historic church space.
Signing the Register:
- At Last – Etta James
- True Colours – Cyndi Lauper
These two songs created a soulful and reflective mood while the register was signed. At Last brought a classic, timeless feel to the moment, while True Colours added a personal and emotional layer. Both songs worked beautifully in our arrangement for piano and cello—expressive without being overpowering, elegant without being distant.
Exit Music:
- You Make My Dreams – Hall & Oates
To end the service on a high, Kate and Jimmy selected this upbeat, feel-good track. Our rendition added a touch of playfulness and celebration while maintaining the musical elegance of the day. As the newlyweds walked back down the aisle together, there was a real sense of joy and energy in the room. It was the perfect conclusion to a beautiful ceremony.

Why Live Music Matters
One of the things that makes JAM Duo different is that we perform everything live. There are no backing tracks, no loops, and no pre-recorded arrangements. Every note is played in real time by two experienced musicians who are listening, adjusting, and interpreting in the moment.
Our instruments—Jules on the Nord Piano and Anne-Marie on the Yamaha Electric Cello—give us a dynamic and expressive range that suits church acoustics particularly well. Whether it’s a whisper-quiet passage during the vows or a full, rich sound to celebrate the couple’s exit, we tailor our playing to the space and the occasion.
In a setting like St Peter & St Paul, where every breath and note carries through the space, live music adds a layer of authenticity and emotion that can’t be replicated by a speaker or playlist.
A Ceremony to Remember
It’s rare that a wedding service stands out as clearly as this one did. Reverend Deborah Walton brought a level of care and connection that was evident throughout. Her words were thoughtful and personal, and she created a welcoming space that reflected both tradition and love.
There were moments of laughter, moments of reflection, and above all, a strong sense that this was more than a ceremony—it was the beginning of something profound. We felt privileged to be part of it, to support it musically, and to witness such a meaningful milestone for two wonderful people.
Thank You, Kate and Jimmy
To Kate and Jimmy—thank you for choosing JAM Duo to be part of your wedding day. It was an absolute pleasure to perform for you and your guests. Your song choices were spot on, and your ceremony was one of the most beautiful we’ve ever experienced. We wish you both all the happiness in the world as you begin this next chapter together.
Final Thoughts
At JAM Duo, we believe music should reflect the moment. It should be played live, with heart and with skill, by musicians who understand how to respond to the atmosphere in real time. Whether we’re performing in a barn, a ballroom, or a historic Norfolk church, we bring the same level of professionalism, care, and attention to detail.
Kate and Jimmy’s wedding reminded us why we do what we do. It was a day full of love, sincerity, and joy—and we were proud to be a small part of it.
