The Oak Barn is a stunning wedding venue set in the heart of rural Devon
It features three converted historic barns and an ancient cob Devon farmhouse. Up to 90 people can be comfortably seated with room for 125 in the evening.
There are landscaped gardens with lawns and terraces (overlooked by the medieval St Andrews Church) surrounded by the beautiful rolling green hills of the Devon countryside.
The Oak Barn is a beautiful wedding venue in a historic Devon farmstead situated within beautiful rural surroundings, with endless photo opportunities.
We are venue only so couples can organise a unique wedding with the suppliers of your choice (though we are happy to make recommendations). The owners are on site throughout to give advice and assistance if needed. Weddings here tend to be family orientated and are relaxed and happy affairs.

Jules and Anne-Marie can provide music for your wedding at the Oak Barn near Hittisleigh in Devon. Generally we provide music during the day for your ceremony, drinks, meal and first dance and can play indoors or outside.
About the Oak Barn
Hittisleigh Barton is a small historic hamlet centred around St Andrews Parish Church. The farm and church relationship goes back to Saxon times when the Barton was the site of the former Manor of Hittisleigh. The current farm group has a range of traditional buildings including a medieval farm house and a variety of 18th century cob farm buildings.
The Oak Barn is actually two connected barns, one an eighteenth century granary converted to a stunning hall with traditional oak cruck trusses, the second a 19th century barn which has been converted to a reception room, kitchen and accommodation (three bedrooms all en suite). The conversion has been undertaken to the highest standards using oak from the farm and traditional building methods.
Katharine & John
Katharine and John have lived at Hittisleigh Barton since 2000. They started the wedding business in 2012 to fund nature conservation work and the restoration of the six listed buildings on the farm. They have been married 40 years and have three adult children, two granddaughters and five grandsons. They both love weddings and the pleasure that the gardens and buildings bring to people. Both will be active “behind the scenes” and will be seen doing everything from cutting the grass to cleaning the loos.
