Offering services to couples hosting weddings, Sudeley Castle is nestled in the heart of the Cotswold Hills. This truly unique castle boasts more than 1,200 acres. On these historic grounds, romantic ruins, sweeping valleys, and magnificent, award-winning gardens combine to create an idyllic celebration backdrop.
Facilities and Capacity
Heartfelt ceremonies can be held outside with breath-taking views of the hills and the castle, or in our historical library surrounded by your closes friends and family. We also have our very open charming chapel within the castle grounds where you can say ‘I do’. After exchanging vows, you can enjoy a dazzling reception in the setting of your choosing.
Canapes and champagne can be served in one of our spectacular gardens, the Rose Garden being the most popular. For your meal, dining in our new glass Orangery is the perfect setting to share food and laughter with your guests, following by dancing and cocktails in our historitcal Castle Coach House. You will look out onto venue’s expansive terrace, complete with an outdoor bar and you will have the chance to admire stunning valley views. If you’re hosting a gathering for over 150 guests, a lavish marquee can be set up on our North Lawn with stunning reflections of the Tithe Barn in the water as your backdrop.
Services Offered
Sudeley Castle has an array of accommodation for up to 90 people situated in and around the castle grounds. Some of our favourites are the fabulous Cotswold stone farmhouse that sleeps 14 and one of the unique castellated gatehouses at the foot of the main drive.
On your special day, you will have access to the venue from 8am until midnight and have exclusive access to the grounds from 5pm, allowing you to celebrate at your own pace. Our preferred caterers will create you a bespoke menu using fabulous local and carefully sourced produce and will be delighted to meet with you to discuss your choices. Reception Venues
The Queen’s Garden
Luxuriously encased in double-planted, 200 year old yew hedges, The Queen’s Garden is the magnificent centrepiece of Sudeley’s gardens and a quintessentially English setting in which to host your drinks reception. Named after four of England’s Queens –Anne Boleyn, Katherine Parr, Lady Jane Grey and Elizabeth I – the garden brims with roses and has a sparkling fountain at its centre. There are several options for marquees where guest can take in views of time-softened ruins of Sudeley’s Royal Apartments.
Orangery & Castle Coach House
The light filled Orangery and adjoining Castle Coach House and bar offer versatile spaces in which to accommodate up to 150 guests. The elegant glass structure and wrought iron work offer a classical blank canvas to transform into your dream venue. The far reaching views across the terrace to the rolling Cotswold Hills beyond make for a fairy tale backdrop. This space is available with outdoor drinks reception options.
The Castle Coach House is steeped in history, perfect for dancing the night away or dining within the castle walls. We can accommodate 80-100 guests in the Castle Coach House.
Tithe Barn & North Lawn
For larger celebrations, the manicured North Lawn comfortably accommodates marquees of all sizes. Located between the tree-lined castle entrance and the flower strewn ruins of Sudeley’s glorious Tithe Barn.
Mulberry Lawn
Surrounded by castle walls and the spectacular, windowless ruins of the Royal Apartments, this exquisite lawn enjoys unrivalled romantic backdrops and a sense of history – perfect for open air drinks receptions and marquee receptions.
