Ah, behold July, the month when the weather decides to throw a massive temper tantrum, especially here in jolly old England. But oh no, this time it was feeling particularly sassy, like a rebellious teenager on a mission. And today, we were playing for an outdoor wedding which meant going on a tractor ride through a farm….
Abbey Home Farm describes itself as:
An organic oasis with a small carbon footprint
The perfect place for both your ceremony and reception if you are looking for a truly organic wedding with seasonal local food, a relaxed and informal atmosphere and friendly staff.
The Wedding Ceremony
Our role today was to provide music for Hannah and Jordan’s wedding ceremony in the grounds of Abbey Home Farm. This meant first of all we had to go on a trailer ride with all our instruments and kit. Which, today at least, meant getting very, very wet!!
But no matter, our job is not to complain but to always see the positive and most importantly to just get on with it.
We always take the view that every wedding we are involved in is the most special day for the couple and it is therefore our job to ensure that our contribution is always the very best we can make it.
And so despite the British weather we loaded our instruments onto the trailer and set off into the woods….!
Arriving in the ceremony area we found a little wooden shelter which was duly sanctioned for weddings and set ourselves up in the corner ensuring we allowed sufficient space for the registrars.
It was certainly the first time either of us have played for a wedding in wellies…! But that was the vibe of the day on this occasion. Hannah and Jordan’s friends and guests were absolutely fabulous and kindly helped us by carrying some of our kit through the wet woodland!
There was some great music in today’s ceremony chosen by Jordan and Hannah. Unfortunately the registrar didn’t announce Hannah, and so we were still on the last pre ceremony piece for her entrance! But no matter, it was just such a joyous occasion we just added in the Elvis during the signing.

We really enjoyed being a part of Jordan and Hannah’s wedding. Sadly they had to dash off to catch the tractor ride back after the ceremony so we didn’t get a chance to say hello. However, once again some of their friends stayed behind to help us with our instruments.
This was genuinely one of the most lovely weddings we have ever been involved in and had a real sense of joy regardless of the nonsense from the weather. We wish Hannah and Jordan every happiness in their married future together xx
