Jules and Anne-Marie love the chance to play for a wedding in Cornwall. It’s a lovely part of the country and there are some absolutely delightful venues, many of which have fabulous views looking out to sea. Today’s venue, Pollurian on the Lizard was no exception.

The Wedding

Polurrian on the Lizard, Cornwall
23 April 2022

Having travelled down the night before and stayed over near Truro, Jules and Anne-Marie had plenty of time to get to today’s beautiful wedding venue. Today all we needed was our acoustic cello and digital piano which made for a very simple (and swift) setup.

Wedding Ceremony

The first part of our involvement for Lisa and Phil was to play for their ceremony, As always this included around 20 minutes of music whilst the guests gathered.

Lisa arrived right on time and was looking stunning in her wedding dress as she walked up the aisle to find her groom.

Wedding Drinks Reception

After the ceremony, we moved to the ‘Upper Vista’. Basically this is the same room but a slightly elevated version of the fantastic view out across the ocean.

Setting up in front of a gallery of famous musicians, or at least some of their LPs, we were soon playing again whilst the wedding guests enjoyed champagne and canapés. The drinks reception lasted around 90 minutes and our final role in today’s wedding was to provide ambient music for the wedding breakfast which was downstairs.

The Wedding Breakfast

Again it only took moments to carry our instruments downstairs and set up once again ready to play for the wedding breakfast.

Whilst it was a little hot when we were downstairs, we were kindly provided with refreshments by Lisa and Phil and thoroughly enjoyed providing music for them whilst they, and their guests, enjoyed a rather splendid meal at the Polurrian.

Finishing around 5pm, we soon found ourselves heading back out of Cornwall on the A30 towards our home in the Cotswolds. Another fantastic wedding, and another lovely couple – we wish both Lisa and Phil all the very best for their future happiness together.
